So, I'm trolling the Job websites, doing my usual daily search and I see this Job Title on my screen.

Help Desk Level 1.5

At first, I skip right over it, then it's one of those strange things that catches your eye. 1.5? What exactly is a 1.5 position? I start thinking about this and it hits me. This has to be one of the most honest job postings I have ever seen. What leads me to that you ask?

Well, they are upfront about their work expectations and pay. So, if you were to ask them about it, I imagine this is what they would have to say.

We are going to work you like a Level 2 Helpdesk Analyst, but we are going to pay you like a Helpdesk 1 Analyst. So, we made this fancy new title called Help Desk Level 1.5......

Hehehe.... That has to be it.... There can be no other explanation..... Or is there?

Sounds like my job before I received my last raise, and we started reorganizing the way we do things in our IT department.

Yea, reminds me of typical IT positions.

I figured one of the techies here would get a kick out of that.....

duh Atomm, it's a job for a tier 2 guy who is short. Under 5' you get demoted to level 1.5
