Top notch quote, Sarge. Pardon my French, but EA, and the ppl who run MLB, are greedy pig-effers. All of 'em (OK, so Sarge's family sensibilities are rubbing off on me.)
Someone needs to put the following headline on the cover of a major periodical: "Why does MLB hate the children?"
What?
I played for the Tigers when I was kid. Our colors were red and white and Detroit never came to mind. This is beyond pathetic.
Why does MLB hate the children? Why?!?!?!
It's not only little league but all of youth baseball. Over my career in baseball I played for the Pirates and the Royals as well as the Lions and the Hornets. What if your sport team name crosses into other Pro Sports names? Does the baseball team have to pay but not the soccer, football, basketball, or other sports teams? If you play on a baseball team named the Lions, do you have to pay the NFL for the name?
buncha bastiges.
Well, but look beyond that at what they are accomplishing. I mean, who suffers from the infringement? no one. But think about it how many kids are Yankee's fans because they played on the Yankees as a kid. I mean honestly I am a big Miami Dolphins fan, and it's because my youth football team had those same colors.
It's just stupid, it's not like youth sports are hurting their MLB business.
This sums up the article best.
Quote from article:
Tell Major League Baseball to Shove it: I take back what I said earlier, I like this idea the best. Tell Major League baseball to go find something better to do, like, oh, I don't know, keep making the game better in various ways and work on getting HGH testing rather than trying to rip Little League teams out of funding money so they can make more.
There's no way MLB would win this one. All people would have to do is like what was mentioned above. Post on every paper...."Why does MLB hate kids!"
