    I'm sure many of you have heard this but check this out.

    What is Goobuntu?

    Google and the Penguin LogoGoobuntu is a Linux Desktop Distribution personalized and optimized by Google Technicians which has Ubuntu as the base distribution.

    Google has been building, optimizing and personalizing this distribution for the last 3 years.

    Google has almost 6000 employes and around 7500 Desktop and Laptop computers. Since Google promotos the use of Open Source software and it is known their closenest to Linux on the server side, they have invested a lot of effort on making a very stable, easy to install and easy to use and mantain Linux Distribution for the Desktop computer.

    The Goobuntu distribution includes all the “Open Source” Desktop applications needed to be able to replace the current Operating System on your Desktop Computer, although this Distribution was not initially though of as a competitor to the MS Windows and MS Desktop applications family, it is obvious that it becomes a thread to the kingdom of such software configurations.


    Is it a hoax or for real? who's to tell at this point.

    I <3 Ubuntu, the more I play with it the more I like it. Of course I have named mine Bubuntu.

    I thought I's just post it to see what kind of response there would be. There are about as many "it's true" pages on the web as there are "it's just a hoax" pages on the web.

    From what I could find, It does exist and Google is using it. But it looks like they claim there is not intent to release it as an OS. It's all a ploy....
