    Greetings all,

Last night I missed FNF cause my bro and I went to see Harry Potter. I wanted to post my thoughts in case anyone else was looking to see the movie and give up something important. LOL

******* Do Not Read - Possible Spoiler *********

I will try to be as vague as possible for those who have not read to books or want the suprise of the movie. The story is very close to the book, but a 2 1/2 hours, the movie unfortunately had to be selective regarding some background stories involving some of the characters. Storywise, it was solid.
Regarding the sets and scenery, it seems that the new director wanted new sets or something. Although the locations are nice, they didnt use the ones from the first 2 movies, causing a loss in familiarity. Dont get me wrong, the locations are nice, but you kinda get used to one "setting" after the first 2 movies. They also moved our favorite abusive tree, the whomping willow, to another part of the grounds.
Personally, I think the director is heavy into special effects. There were some effects added (such as birds) that tend to clog up the scene rather than help it along. Also, the film is made with a more "gritty" feel, and at times felt like an indie film rather than a multimillion dollar.

All in all the movie is a good movie, just a sidetrack from the filming style of the first two. <In best X-Play's Adam Sessler voice> We give it a 3.....out of 5.

Shaking magic stick at people.....that sounds familiar. Did I hear you use that as a pickup line at work? hehehehehe. I assume you were never into the previous movies or literature? 🙂

Not really... The first one really just didn't do anything for me... As for the books... Umm... I have not read a fiction book in years...

No fiction? Not a one? WOW, thats all I read. Real World news and philosiphy is just so depressing. 🙂

I have a friend that reads the books and watched the movies. He said the last one was a crock. They missed the books badly with this on. As he described it, they riped all the pages from the book, threw them in the air and how they fell is how they did the movie. He said some of the major things were backwards or happend at the wrong times.

Hmmm i need to review the book, its been a while since i read it. I know they left out a LOT of information about the link between some of the adults and Harry's parents, and never explained why the map was called what it was.
