Hehehe! Oh dear god, I guess you HAVE to ask, since they're not a professional baseball team and probably aren't reported on anywhere but Western PA. The off-season moves looked good, but Adam LaRoche's bat didn't show up until June, and the season was over by then. The coaching staff allowed Ronny Paulino to play despite showing the least effort since Joggin' George Hendrick. . .add in below-the-norm performances by everyone else, and that's a house-cleanin'.
They fired all of the major league staff, the president, the GM, the director of player development, the director of scouting, and the guy that cleans the whirlpools. Maybe they'll be respectable in three years. . .meantime, I expect we'll be relieving the Phillies of that nasty "consecutive losing season" record. Good on the Phillies for getting to the playoffs, though. They've had a whole lot of fail in their past as well, and their fans deserved better.
That first series in Houston though. . .awesome. I should've stopped watching after that.
