I wanted to add here that you folks should top off your tanks. Gas has gone up 40 cents here since yesterday, and some places it's much higher. Might as well save yourself a little money if you're passing a gas station that doesn't have a line out to the road (like a couple places here had when I topped off.)
It looks like there are some far-reaching effects of this hurricane. It's currently 65 degrees here in TN, about 25 degrees cooler than normal. It's 65 in Pittsburgh, which means it's probably cool through Ky and Ohio as well. I heard there was a a whole lot of rain in Detroit yesterday related to Ike. . .how freakin' huge was this hurricane?
Yah, we had sustained winds from 7pm to 12am last night. 60-70 mph gusts with NO rain. It was kinda strange. One gust damn near knocked down my wife on the front porch 🙂 There was like 60k residents without power. Mine returned about 2am.
