    Saw this one posted elsewhere it was too good to pass up.

    about how much shorter movies would be with cellphones.

    Great find. It's true that cellphones negate major plot points in a lot of movies. You'll notice characters claiming they don't like cell phones, or their battery is dead, or they dropped/lost it, or they're in a 'no signal' zone, as plots need. If you're a writer, you need to take them into account now, and decide if the story will be better without them, or if you want certain characters to have them, or which characters will have one and have it fail at a critical point, and so on.
