That would have to be at least 2 Christmases and Birthdays for that kind of $$$$. Especially since I would need to upgrade the rest of my system around it as well.

Looks like one kickin Vid Card though. Don't show it to Bubba, he may loose control of himself.

I noticed the four prong power connector. What does that go to?

did you see the power plug on the EXTERNAL side? looks like a power brick like a usb drive or laptop that plugs into the back of that thing as well as the pci-e power and the funky square power that can be found on many new power supplies. talk about energy consumption. I wonder what kind of HEAT that thing puts off.

Bare in mind sometimes these are prototypes and they don't worry about comsumption at that point. I remeber talking to a guy at 3dfx labs at one point and he was telling me about their new card that was in testing. This was just before they were bought by nvidia. He told me they were all testing the new vid card and they hadn't worked out the power yet. he said they had to open the slot next to each card to run an AC power cord out and into a wall socket. This was years before I saw any other card that needed power from anything besides the bus. Judging by the fact I never saw such a card from 3dfx, I guess nvidia scrapped the idea.
