It's not a dry heat.
That is all.
That is all.

Yea it is hot as hell here as well. Damn Global Warming 😉

That is just a "bit" too awkward to build.
Besides it is too hot to work 😉

Hey wait.. don't you have AC?? If so, what are you bitching about 🙂

I provided you with an AC option that costs less than $30 to build (major cost: the fan), and it's operating cost is little more than that of operating a fan (which we can all hear you using anyway). The fact that it's awkward and kludgey should be a bonus to a geek such as yourself. 😉 This Friday when your computer room is pushing 100 degrees, don't blame Doc 😏
And if it leaks, well, you said you were interested in trying WATER COOLING in your computer! 😱
Paladin wrote:
My luck is it would short out my entire house. Besides by the time you keep a huge ass bucket full of ice, I would not be able to game having to add to it every 30 min 🙂
I could not even make enough ice 😉
Hell I could just keep putting ice cubes in a rag and wringing it over myself and get the same effect but much wetter 🙂

I'd sure hate to be his landlord or parents. I don't know the rate of water he's running from that garden hose, but it has to be alot. Idiot.
There are several better ways to exchange the heat from the hose. Hell, the simplistic way is to simply draw the cold air directly off the ice water. Thats how window coolers were made back in the 50-70's.

F that..... Carbon credits is a scheme rich people like Al Gore thought up to try to make the amount of money they waste on abundance seem OK.
Sarge wrote:
At this point there are no regulations restricting personal carbon emissions so I don't personally see a downside of some rich person spending their money to assuage their conscience. They money goes towards a good cause at least instead of whatever else it is rich people do with their money.

Don't get me wrong. I am no saint. We run the AC more than the average family and I've owned sub 20MPG, SUV/Trucks's almost all of my driving life. However, I think it's ridiculous to say, it's ok that I don't live what I expect everyone else to do, I'm rich and I can afford it.

Now now, it's ok. Show me on the dolly where Al Gore touched you.
Paladin wrote:
Bubba I am with you, why not pollute less, that is ALWAYS a good thing but lets not do it under false pretenses. Lets do it because it is the right thing to do.
Bubbaspanky wrote:
I guess I don't understand why if you know something could be done better, why wouldn't you. I don't care if you beleive in global warming or not, but wouldn't you like to see less polution rather than more? Keep your politics out of it.. think is clean air a good thing? Now what can you do in very small gestures to keep your air cleaner?
Bubbaspanky wrote:
As for the China arguement, what does it matter what they do... can't you just have your own backbone and say "I want to do things better?". Granted everyone would like to see China do better, but sometimes you have to lead by example. Say they make 2 tons of pollution and we make 1... wouldn't it be better for everyone if we only made .5?
Bubbaspanky wrote:
I mean look at your arguements, and pull the poltics out of them. Are you kidding me... CO2 is a good thing??? You go fill your garage with CO2 and brethe only that and tell me how good it is. It's keeping things in balance. You need trace amount of iodine to keep your body running, arte you going to eat a candy bar of iodine tomorrow, no it'll kill you.
You guys come up with millions of excuse of why global warming is wrong, but did you ever consider... it's bad no matter what. And maybe there are small inconsequential things you can do to help it? If you beleive cows are the biggest source of CO2, then maybe eat less beef.
Bubbaspanky wrote:
My point is do something, be proactive at helping somewhere, don't spend all your time trying to poke pinholes.
I have made the decision I will do what I can to minimize the amount of air pollution I create. I have made the decision to recycle so as to help alleviate a problem we have with not enough places to keep our garbage. I have seen the polluted haze over Los Angeles... I want to do what I can to ensure that isn't over my house. It has nothing to do with Al Gore, China, Democrats, Republicans, Mars... it has to do with wanting something to last longer, or be better.
Stop looking for blame or for conspiracies, and look for what you might be willing to do to make your life better.
Atomm wrote:
I completely agree and it's why I think Carbon Credits are a bunch of bullshit. Instead of trying to lower pollution, Carbon Credits allows the rich to say, it's ok that I consume more than I should, I can afford to buy Carbon Credits from someone else who does a better job. Instead of lowering pollution, it has a net affect of keeping pollution at a specific level.
Bubbaspanky wrote:
Then why do you keep throwing politics into this. Why do pretenses matter, why not just do the right thing and do it now? Why do you need to argue about science? Why not do it cause you know it's better?
As for you spouting on and on and on about the bad science, give me the link to some articles in a peer reviewed science journal saying global warming isn't true.
