99% of the time I never watch shows live. This was the exception. Previews from the week before showed this kind of outcome.
What I liked about the series from beginning to end is it shows even small hometowns in the middle of nowhere can/will degenerate into city states fighting each other for survival. Indivuals will stepup and fall.
I sense that season two will have many more dynamics since the plot looks to expand to another nation(s) outcome. It will also give Hawkins more time to explain/correct his pre-bomb mistakes.
Character development and storyline puts this series in the top two for the year for me.

They really should have stolen more mortars to use in the tank, that was bothering me.
I actually hated that they killed the old man as well. I think he brought a balance and level headedness to an uncertain future.
If you remember, they did steal more mortars, but Emily's asshole of a father took all of them for his own use.
Basically, the Uranium in the unused bomb has a specific signature that can tie it to the people who made it. That is why they want the bomb so bad, not because they plan to use it, but because they need to destroy the last bit of evidence that could point out the real terrorists. I use the term fingerprinting loosely.

Yep. another very good show dies while so much other sh&^ lives on. I am getting so very sick of all this crap I really am. So many shows get killed off and such lame ass crap stays!!!!!!
"Jericho" started out strong last fall for CBS. However, like "Lost" on ABC and "Heroes" on NBC, many viewers abandoned the show after it went on a long midseason hiatus. "We lost a lot of steam," said Kelly Kahl, CBS's chief scheduling executive. "I know we had loyal viewers .. but the show sort of lost its engine and wasn't performing."
What a bunch of crap... We took too long of a break and it seems to have killed the momentum.... Well, DUH!
VICTORY!!! Nina Tassler has confirmed that Jericho is returning for 7+ Episodes as a mid-season replacement! She also stressed that the show's audience will have to grow if we want to see more.
