I find myself with a week's vacation and the perfect opportunity to clean up my BF game. One of the questions I have regards keyboard layout. Use a mouse or Joystick for flight. Opinion are petitioned and welcome. 🙂

KB's are for the weak! 🙂

I use a Belkin Nostromo speed pad... Nice once you get used to them...

Joystick for flight is a must [IMO], but somepeople do better with a mouse... I have read many forums where people claim to own everyone with a mouse...

I remap several keys to make sure everything I could need is in reach of aswd. Joystick for flying planes. Racer swears by it, but uses Keyboard/Mouse for Helo's.

Well, looks like I'll just continue experimenting hehehehe

For flight and fight, I use a crappy keyboard [wsad] with an even crappier mouse, that now dosent turn left or up most of the time. It sux really bad.

I am in the process of saving for a Razor boomercontrol mouse. Any opinions on Razor products? Its alot of money for a mouse, but Im sick of getting killed because i cant turn.

oh yea, What is a Belkin Nostromo speed pad??

The last one that I messed with was in 99. It freakin rocked once you got use to the layout. But the response time for a ball mouse was amazing. From what I hear they have even improved that so the newest versions should be ungodly.

Great to hear, cuz I hate optical, and I knew Razor was a ball. Its gotta be a ball. I pick up and spin way to much to use laser.

I just looked at the Logitech MX500 ephil said was the best mouse ever.
Funny enough I have it, and the wireless keyboard. Like I said, I cant use optical, so I am willing to get rid of them for whatever. If anyones interested, make me an offer.

Also. How do you use that speed pad? ie. button setup, cuz it looks insainly awesome.

The MX500 is a great mouse.... That is if you can use optical. Most people hate optical mice because they are not has heavy as a ball mouse. Not sure on the wireless but I would not be using any wireless for gaming. That is just me

and about that speed pad? I have no clue but I really like to hear ephil when we change games and he forgets to load the new game into the pad...hehe, it is pretty funny 🙂

heh... yeah, forgetting to load the game in the pad sux...

But as for what I do with it... Mainly, with the N50, I use the 10 keys like the normal asdw and map what I want to the others... I use the directional pad for jumping, croutching and prone... You can also program "macros" into it to perform multipule keystrokes in one... Nice for radio communications in BF...

The N52 offers a few more keys that will make the macros easier for me. Should get it soon enough 🙂

I use the NOOBeriffic arrow keys!

I've had the Belkin Nostromo n52 for a couple of weeks now, and I can say I love it. My only issue is getting used to a new key layout. Those who i have played with before where I have borrowed thier computer (Goose hehe) know I had a funky key setup, and its taking a while to retrain myself. Besides that, I LOVE the n52 and recommend it.

Agreed... I came from using the N50 to the N52 and I am digging the extra buttons... I naw have a few radio macros programed into it so I really dont have to touch my KB again 🙂

It is good that games now have multi. profiles... Too bad our computers at work will no longer play the new games. I just hope that we never have to play at a tourney and ephil has to use just mouse and keyboards. 🙂

I think he'd start suffering from withdrawls. To tell the truth, as I continue to get use to the n52, I may be in the same boat. "Dont leave home without it". 🙂
