Sadly, not yet. . .though I did see the barest bit of a spoiler by accident. Post away if you want, I'll avoid this thread until I get to see it, then I'll read what you wrote.

Might want to spoiler-box it though, just to be safe, for others.

1. Notice that Ben wound up in the same desert that the red headed chick found the polar bear with the Dharma collar? Even more interesting, the bear bones appeared to have been there for a while. Does that mean the island has time travel? or a just a teleporter?

2. Several things popped up that reference games. The whole Risk scene was really strange and almost seemed out of place. Yet, Australia is the key was very prominent. Second,

Ben referred to his daughter as a "Pawn", which goes back to Chess, which has been seen in several other episodes. Why do I keep thinking I saw a sculpture of a Chess Castle piece before?

Back to Ben's daughter. He seemed to act like there was no way she was going to Die. In fact, his counter proposal was so silly, (turn away and walk away), that it really felt like he didn't think she would die. Even more so, the horror he showed when she was actually killed leads me to believe either he was delusional thinking he could control everything or that he truely had a reason to believe she wouldn't be killed.

And something really interesting was the reference to changing the rules. What rules would that be? If there are rules, doesn't that mean there is a game being played? Are we watching a real world game of Risk being played out by two Madmen? three? Don't forget Sun's Father has been linked to Hanso somehow.

3. Ben mentioned to Charles Whitemore that he couldn't kill him, but didn't the Sayed flash forward episode, the one where we learn he is working with Ben, say something at the end about just one more person to kill, Charles Whitemore?

What if there are key pieces in this game and they are off limits to killing each other. What if those people could be killed by an outsider, aka Sayed? Even better, did you notice the smirk on Ben's face after convincing Sayed to help him hunt down the other people?

4. If Charles Whitemore is hiding Penelope, but Penelope is hunting for Desmond and even knows what her father is up too with the boat, then is she really hiding?

5. Revisting something we talked about in the past. If Locke knew the ghost whisper guy could do what he did, wouldn't he have demanded that he go with them to see Jacob? There is a reason Whitemore sent him to that island and it has to do with Jacob. Then again, if it did, wouldn't he have insisted on going with Locke and Ben?

6. We know the Oceanic 6 and one member of the dead 2. Whose the last dead member? Is it Claire? is it Locke? Was the eigth member the same person who had the funeral that no one attended?



Man on Man, this show is incredible. It's like the best roller coaster ride and you don't want it end. I can't wait to see the next episode. And they better not wait until next spring to start the next season!

Let me say their scheduling is pissing me off... this whole coming every few months. I haven't seen this episode yet, hopefully this evening.

A mind-blowing episode. This damn show drags on for half a season with no good reveals and no good action sometimes. . .all good character stuff, but it's maddening sometimes. . .then they have episodes like this one.

I don't thing there's any question that there's some time travel going on. We've seen evidence of that all over the place. Time travel, a difference in the passage of time, ppl flashing forward/backward in time, apparently inhabiting their past/future selves.

Obviously Ben didn't expect his daughter to die. There might have been some question as to why he was acting like that PRIOR to her being shot, but afterwards it was clearly stated, twice actually, that there were RULES to what was going on, and Whitmore's ppl violated them with her shooting. Whether or not Whitmore approved of these violations appears to matter little to Ben.

The Risk thing, and Australia being the key, well, I totally whiffed on that. I'm not sure it means anything, but it might well, and I hadn't considered that.

As far as not being able to kill Whitmore, perhaps he just couldn't kill him THEN. Maybe some conditions existed that made it a bad idea to do that. Maybe Ben might work to change those conditions, and then he can kill Whitmore. . .or maybe it's just as easy as getting Sayid to do it, like you said. Yeah, I saw Ben's big-old grin, but in typical Ben fashion, he got Sayid to convince HIM to let him help track down the ppl, rather than try to convince Sayid to do it. The puppet-master at work.

Regarding Ben and the ghost-whisperer, Ben's pretty protective of Jacob. He shot Locke when he found out he saw Jacob, he's not gonna trust one of Whitmore's ppl.


Damn, time travel, a mysterious hidden islands that can't be found reliably, a series of mysterious numbers that show up everywhere, four-toed statues, magnetic phenomena, ppl miraculously healing, a computer that needs to have a special code entered into it every 108 minutes, a secret project, Others, Rules, and a smoke monster. How are they gonna wrap this up?

I think he tried to hide her to keep her from being used against him. Even if he thought she couldn't be killed, what's to say they couldn't hurt her to force Ben out?

And thinking back, we know time travel exists, at least in the mind, because Desmond tracked down Daniel when he was jumping back and forth. How that's different from Ben zooming to the Desert, I don't know.


Yea, I can't imagine what the last episode is going to be like, but I can bet it ends with the rescue and answering the remaining questions. Until then, we will keep seeing the future and the present and they will slowly come together.

Another small detail that was interesting...

We were led to believe that the smoke creature was being blocked out by the "fence" to keep the others safe. Granted the fence was down, but it seemed that Ben was able to call it out to destroy their enemy.
