What did you think of the time difference? The little rocket coming in 30 minutes after it was suppose to have touched down? Also Sayid!!!! Working for Ben?!!
Definitely more questions than answers so far this season. Ephil if you pick it up, you have to start from the beginning.
I think that these are alternate histories. If you remember back to Jack's - he was in a bad way. The only other character that we saw was Kate and she seemed to be doing well. Assuming it was Ben in the coffin, he wasn't doing so well 😀
In Hurley's, he was feeling crazy and paranoid, seeing dead Charlie. Jack on the other hand looked put together and doing well. We see the first appearance (I think) of the leader of the group that is trying to get to the island, both talking to Hurley and to Naomi.
In Sayid's, we didn't see anyone but Ben that we know. Sayid is doing well, but I feel like he is being forced to work for Ben against ??? I'm guessing it is the mysterious black man that Naomi and the new people on the island work for but who knows. I didn't notice the bracelet as I was trying to do two things at once, but it must be a clue to something. Why did the golfer get so scared when he found out it was Sayid he was playing with? What did he know that we don't (or I don't)? Clearly he was right to be scared, but I don't understand why he knew to try and leave.
I wonder what Locke is going to do with the guy that Sayid traded Charlotte for? Have him communicate with the ghostly guy in the cabin?
Oceanic 6: Hurley, Jack, Kate, Sayid for sure. My guess is that Desmond and Ben (posing as one of the people on the plane somehow) round out the group.
My question is what happens to all of the "rescuers"? Are they dead or is everyone else dead? How else would it be known that there are only 6?
You bring up a great point about the dude Sayed traded. He could talk to Jacob. But, Sayed doesn't know about Jacob, so I can't imagine that was important at the time.
Alternate Histories? I think it's the way they are telling the story. It almost feels backwards a bit.
I think the gold dude was a member of the Dharma Initiative and knew Sayed's background.
1. What was the deal with all of Ben's passports? I thought he grew up on the island and lived there all his life.
--It's been mentioned that Ben leaves the island, back when they had a submarine.
2nd. Did anyone catch the bracelet Sayed took from Naomi?
-Caught it, but didn't see the importance in it at this time.
3rd. When did Ben become a Vet? A surgeon?
-I think there is a lot to Ben yet to be revealed.
4th. Is Ben one of the Oceanic 6?
-No, i think they will keep this pure to 6 people from the plane. I figure, Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Sayer, and an unknown that dies.
5th. If he is, then did he fake his death? IE, the guy in the coffin.
-nah..
6th. If he is not, then could it be Locke?
-Think lock becomes the new leader of the "Others"
7th. Man, did Ben have some beady eyes in those glasses or what?
-When is his eyes not beady! LOL
8th. Where are the other others?
-Easy one. They are stuck on the other island. All the boats are back on the "Main" island. Remember Alex's boyfriend had to use the canoe.
I agree with Sarge about the swap. I think Lock knows his ability and will use him to talk to Jacob. Also, did you notice that Hurley can see Jacob's cabin and probably Jacob himself if he had the chance. Not just Locke and Ben.
Ok, I can't believe we haven't talked about this for two whole episodes.
Going back two weeks.
When they showed Kate with Claire and Kate was afraid to pick up Aaron, I turned to my wife and said, she's going to wind up being Aaron's mother. I don't know why I did that, but there was something about the moment that just made that pop into my head.
Then, it was almost the end of the show and I turned to my wife again and said, hey, weren't we supposed to find out another name in the Oceanic 6? Then she greets her baby, Aaron and it sent shivers down my spine.
And the part where Jack won't have anything to do with the baby is kind of strange. At first, I thought it confirmed that Sawyer was the father, but after the ending, I had to rethink that. Either Jack had to do something that cost Claire her life or he couldn't save her. Either way something bad is going to happen to Claire at some point.
And last weeks episode....
We finally get confirmation that Electromagnetism is indeed affecting the time continum on the island. It also confirms that Desmond's "visions" are a direct response to the affects of the electromagnetism he encountered when the hatch blew.
We also get a confirmation that there is indeed time travel going on. How cool is that?
I also like how they are weaving back and forth through multiple timelines. It's interesting that Desmond goes back to the time he was in the Military and has to leave to find Daniel Faraday. I kind of wonder if this is the point in which he goes awol.
And Penny's dad bought the only known book from the Black Rock. How interesting...
This show never ceases to amaze me and to think I almost skipped it entirely.
One last thought.
After seeing a few more episodes, who do you think is in the coffin? I've narrowed it down to three people, Ben, Sayeed or Locke. In the first two cases, it's a cover up, but in the thrid, well, who knows. I'm leaning towards Locke with Ben a close second.
