Man Saturday Night Live SUCKS HARD!

WOW! Man could SNL be any worse of a show?
I used to love that show. Second City and Fridays, all great. SNL has been around for so long I think it is just on because it is Saturday Night that it still is.

I have not really been into it for many years. I watch one here and there just to see if it has improved. Last Saturdays was one such show. Hugh Laurie was on it, I am a fan of his so thought maybe it would be a good one. He is funny. Wow did that SUCK!

Just off the top of my head I had 5 or 6 skit ideas they could have done using him. They did not have one thing really funny. I maybe laughed, very little, twice the entire show. Wow! How do these people approve these skits? Where do they get these writers? I am serious when I say they could not make a worse, more unfunny show if they went out of there way to do so... WOW!!! TRAIN WRECK!

They had that guy from that upcoming movie(the name alludes me) on in the beginning. Wow was that LAME!!!!!!!!!! I just sat there thinking...WTF..... There is a movie with this guy? Supposed to be funny? YEAAAAA RIGHT!!!!!
I won't even get into the liberal political humor. A few things there were the only funny things at all and that was even lame.

How is SNL still on the the air? They will take off FireFly but leave this dribble on forever!!!!!!!!!!
It has to only be because Lauren Michaels wants it to be.

Becks performance was the only redeeming thing and he did not even really do any great songs. The puppets were the best part of the show. 😉

Yeah, it's nothing like it used to be. I catch it every once-in-a-while if I'm not gaming for some reason and am usually struck by how completely unfunny it is. There are usually a few good skits, but after the "Weekend Update" it is usually all down hill. I haven't seen it this year at all though so I have no idea what it is like. They seem to have to go through a transition period after a number of truly funny people have left the show. Then they will find a group that clicks and there will be a number of funny years. Then those people will trickle away......

I honestly miss it most of the time. I think the last I enjoyed it was during the 2000 election season with skits of 'Bush vs Gore'. Those were funny as hell and spot on. Caught a couple more during the 04' election and they just f'ing choked and left ya saying' "WTF?" Bunch of talentless unknowns that didn't know the first thing about political pariody.

Guess it can never return to the glory days of Bellusi, Chase, etc. That was the cast that gave it years of credibility. Once they all left for movie careers, the show went to steadily downhill. Of course, the movies spun off SNL like "The Coneheads", "Blues Brothers" are now classics.

They were the golden age, but don't forget the silver age.

I mean, who can forget.... Paladiny, making copies on the copier..... Or Adam Sandlers great songs.... Or even Chris Farley doing anything..... His best, I live in a Van down by the river!!!!!

I love the sketch commercial "Schmidtts Gay", Bathroom monkey, and there was a sketch that was something like "What's the Best Way?" it was with Adam Sandler, making fun of how every new Englander knows directions trhough all of New England.

Phil Hartman, Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Darrell Hammond, Martin Short, Jon Lovitz, Maya Rudolph . .many others that were good/funny elsewhere but not so much there (Chris Rock, Gilbert Gottfried, Jay Mohr, Micheal McKean, Christopher Guest, Julia Louis-Dreyfus . . .Robert Downey Jr? )

Great history, but they could cull maybe 2 hours of REAL 'funny', on average, out of each year it was on the air.

They USED to have some great musical guests. . . Stevie Ray Vaughan, Zappa, The Stones, Bowie. . .sheesh, do a google search, it's an amazing list. . .not much there for you metalheads, though. I remember one time Fishbone was on. . .GREAT performance of 'Sunless Saturday."

Maybe they need to go to a one-hour format. I'd rather have one hour if they can make it better, instead of working to fill the dead air.
