I thought that card was like 350$. Maybe thats the 6800.

200$ for the one you linked is freakin sweet. I may have to pull my b-day cash together for this one.

yeah you are thinking of the 6800. NVidia released this card during QCon.

Yea, From what I read, the 6600 GT actually beat the 6800NU card. The thing is it has all the same technology as the 6800 and is affordable. In most cases, the affordable card is so dumbed down, it isn't worth having. I read several articles on this and they basicly said Nvidia got it right this time.

One guy even specifically said it was the GeForce4 TI4200 of today. Best bang for the buck. That's why I bought mine so many years ago. I just got excited because I was planning on upgrading my video card and really wanted a 6800, but couldn't afford one. This card is supposed to blow away the 5950.

    From the article:

NVIDIA's drivers seem to have problems in the games Battlefield Vietnam, Race Driver 2 and Joint Operations. Although there aren't any rendering issues, the performance is much lower than it should be, as the comparison with the ATi cards shows.

The card sounded awesome till I read that, made me a little concerned... Typically I've seen that NVIDIA drivers blow away ATI in terms of broad range compatibility...

I think I'm gonna sell my 9800pro soon for one of these.

I'm not sure I agree with that reviewers statement. When I think about all the people on PB that are having video related problems, they are using ATI cards. Even with my GeForce4, I can run at Medium settings, but the high end ATI's must run at low. Heck, wasn't just a few months ago that ATI came out with drivers optimized for BF42.

Either way, I like the idea of upgrading to a card that uses the same drivers that I currently use.

Hate to do this to this thread... But I run my ATI 9800 Pro 128mb at high everything on BFV now... No issues...

Thats what I was running last night...

I've seen alot of people on PB and 2 friends IRL have BFV video problems with Nvidia as well. I do admit that Nvidias drivers are usually better though.

I have had no issues whatsoever on my 6800GT.... Also I will be the first to tell anyone if I have issues since I moved from my ATI 9800 to this card. ephil still gives me shit about it. 🙂
