Well I just don't know how I get myself in to these pickles, but I have been chosen to be a technical adviser for my daughters High School IT Academy.
What the Academy does is provide a technical background in Computer/IT/Networking industry. The kids curriculum is dictated and tailored for 4 years in High school to include technical writing in English, Technical Spanish and other like classes tailored to the IT/PC industry.
They intern (no pay) the 3rd year and inter (pay) the final year with local IT business.
The reason for this post is some of the Seniors, are interested in game design and modding.... so I have given them our site address, in hopes that between us we may be able to give them some answers to their questions outside the school environment, and to give them a view of our type of communication networking and game modding and designing.
As an example of this years Senior IT project the Seniors are in the process of starting up a non-profit grant program that will acquire and distribute monies to interested students continuing their education in the technology fields. Presently they are gathering the last bits for their Idaho state recognition as a non for profit organization.
One student has been accepted in to law school related to the electronic rights and data ownership, another has a full 4 year scholarship thru his present employer if he decides to pursue business management relating to the server/pc industry with a management job after his college.
Three of them have decided to explore the game designer industry with one already applying for scholarship money to select a school in the fall.
We have a wide base of technology skills here in our core group of users, and hope you all don't mind that I volunteered our forums as a knowledge base for the real world.
These are sharp kids. If they create accounts, I hope we can help them out a little.
