DocJon wrote:A well-reasoned post writ well. You can take the rest of the day off, because you've once again left me with nothing to say. 😀

Thank u so much for the day off my honored and adored Mentor, Lama (Buddhist Teacher) and DocJon 🙇 kiss the ring on your finger + whenever u want I wash ur feet.
This day off u gave me was my night - and I slept ok - that followed the log out after I finished the post above. Since last sunday in the morning time switched one hour behind to winter time. That seperates me even more from my beloved gamers radio fori;) my favorite way of "wasting time". On most weekends I am working. There ain´t too many clients and things slow down a bit so I got some time to let my mind roam around and being saturated by ur guy´s culture. Sometimes my mind shows a reaction, a kind of urge to spit something out and it instructs my fingers to hammer the result into the keyboard.

That is what it instructed today after reading the posts above:
Excuse me DocJon, but your "parenthical previso" - first I thought this equals the meaning parential advice (blessed r ur children, forever lucky be this wife of urs kiss the ring again) - reminded me of Immanuel. We call him Emanuel Kant. It sounded quite familiar to his, well in Europe quite famous Catergoric Imperative. Kind of, may be coincidential though, dunno....
    http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanuel_Kant

Last but not least : noting could be more boring than a day without my worshiped mentors colorful, vivid and inspiring posts. If he is silent for more than 6 hours I am starting to get worried: Did sth happen to the devine? Is he sick or just went on his anual vacacion up in the mountains of Montana. Will Duck tell me if he cought a flew? Probably not. My worst fear is that Doc will stop "talking" . Please never ever stop.

    Sincerly yours,

Alright, enough of the obsequiousness. If you want to honor us, you will do so in the traditional manner: throw money. And never bow or salute: the enemy snipers look for that! 😀

Criminy, you're going to try and make me think, aren't you? And look, you made me say, "criminy"! That's such a silly word! Posting a link to Kant - what's wrong with you? Don't you know I went to college and studied that crap all at once so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore? 🙂

Yeah, the whole "do as you will, as long as it doesn't interfere with the lives or happiness of others" was birthed in, and expressed more eloquently by, far greater minds than mine. I can't remember, but I think something very much like it informed much of the early years of this country. I don't know if Kant had much influence on people such as Thomas Jefferson, but it's believed John Locke did.

I don't remember much of my philosophy classes. I'm like a sponge: I absorb all kinds of info, and when some of it dribbles out, there's no telling where it came from. If I don't use or discuss something for a long time, it all turns to chunks of information without any context. I kick ass at trivia games, but don't ask me to tie it all together and give it real meaning.

By the way, you could have left this in the original thread. It's not like that one was going to result in anything important.

I think u got me right, when u thought I was getting a bit ironic about that writ well, day off and nothing more to say fawning of urs to some extension.

Hey and what u want to sell me? Shouldn't that go in another thread?

No I did not want to make exsplicitly u think. Just thought its good to mention, that
Kant made this way of thinking "popular". And its easy to forget nowadays. As I see on myself often enough.

John Locke's works still r the basics of all democracies. He was influenced by Descartes.

I am convinced that Kant with his catergorical imperative had a great influence on morals rather than on form of a political system. It says : Act only on that maxim through which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law.
He was against the explotation of ppl.
His ethics r also called duty ethics. As for he was convinced that only if u decide to do something out of duty it can be called a moral action. U e.g. take part in a live aid concert for the reason of gaining more popularity it clearly is no moral action. What counts is the intention rather than the consequences following by the act.

Also famous is his act on the free will. According to him the free will seperates the is the animal from human beings. One can become a slave to all kinds of things. One can even become a slave to one's own egoism. Independence and freedom are exactly what are required to rise above one's desires and vices.

Too bad, I had a good time writing that reply to 49992 post.
Was laughing my ass off big time. 🙂

That´s why I couldn´t leave it in the original thread. Did not feel right.

    Not at all.

There is a problem when you communicate via text and not face-to-face, and that problem is the missing nonverbal communication. Supposedly, we use nonverbal communication as much as words to get our ideas across. Without body language and facial expression cues, often times our words can me taken to mean two or more things. Sometimes if we're in a bad mood when we read a message, we'll assume the person who wrote it was in a bad mood, when he or she might not have been.

We have an additional problem, in that you are not a native English speaker. You have a good command of our language, much more than I ever did in German, but it's still not up the same level as someone who's been speaking, listening and writing it every day of his life. I've even known some native English speakers that did not do well with the written English language! I used to argue with one guy on a message board all the time, and I couldn't make him understand that I was AGREEING with him!

Anyway, the point is, there are challenges to communicating in a forum such as this. Fortunately, as internet forums go, this is a small one, with a well-behaved crowd that mostly know each other very well. From that, I can assure you that when you read our messages, you should always read them while assuming this is looking at you:

    Smiley_face.gif

If you do that, you will nearly always properly interpret the tone of the message.

    Same for me

Oh and I have that luck stepping on the one toe that hurts.
The "copyright" nazi ass joke at the end of my reply to post 49992 was made by me without reading all the beautiful blogs Sarge linked (read them just today) could have easily been misunderstood.

Nobody ever gave me an answer on this one: What r u guys selling.
As we come closer to chrismas I am getting nervous time is flying.

So this year I set my mind on stuffed animals and stuff u can easily take with u to bed without feeling so alone.

And as I am reading lots of old posts most of them from the "This doesn´t deserve it ..." threat, and I take time to look around a bit... and it was then when ......: a light flickered in my eyes - Bubbas Avatar 🙂 Savior of all my anually regressing question that haunt me at around and before chrismas time : what gift will I get them?

Maybe should ask that first: Is there such a stuffed animal available on the US market or no?
    Where can I buy????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Is this character pictured in ur avatar an really existing one, is it part of a game? How is it called?

Other than that I hereby anounce that tonight there will be a party at my house.
Honoring the day I played my first BF Assault game ever and the day ur guys´ stupid election is over now or not exactly now, but later, but AW today.

I should let Bubba handle this, but I know he has a lot on his plate, with work and school keeping him busy through Christmas, so I'll answer and he can fill in the blanks if needed.

I don't think they have any stuffed animals for sale.

Our election: well, I think the polls close around 9pm on the west coast, which is midnight east coast time(about 9 hours from now). There's a chance that we'll know the outcome around that time, but if it's close, we might not know until we get up in the morning.

EDIT: Alaska's polls don't close until 1 AM Eastern time.

Is the the Battlefield Assault game you were playing?

Well, good for you. It's a start!

I think Doc hit the nail on the head. My avatar is Bucky Katt. The strip Get Fuzzy is great and always puts a smile on my face.

Though I agree I would love a Bucky Katt doll!

Now that I see it closer, that cat rather is giving me a slightly uneasy feeling.
Never the less, I am not obligated to tell my family what this "cat" really is about. 🙂
Until they find out,...I will have some fun. Ya its even worth sewing it myself, if it does not exist it'll be worth all the effort.

    Thanks for the info.

Ah and I found something else:

Duck never has been a very social fellow, that was before the "metamorphosis" he went through. After that he did not look by no means cute anymore.

    http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=miWzVZ4Bj3w
& I am happy about the statement in ur sick line, dude. Hope Duck as he started the new, I call it cleaning disorder threat today is not too bad off, inofficially I am curious about which limp he could be missing?!

Yeah, it might get close. I'll see to it tomorrow. No way I am going to sacrifice a wonderful night like this.

And yes Sir it was exactly that one I played. And god, was I bad. Even worse than,... well as soon as I have something positive to say about my skills u'll know it. I'll keep u posted on that one. Might well be never.
Uploaded steam though and will see to it that I get some real games on.
