Ok, so I am actually watching a TV show regularly and it's sci-fi-y so I am starting a thread. We may have had one before.

Let me start the topic is Summer Glau is HOT!

So... is Cameron evil? Are the terminators now capable of being human (think of the ballet). What was the deal with the door drawn on the wall just before the girl jumped off the building... it switches from scene to scene.

I'm not sure if she's evil or just lacking human emotions does what needs to be done to "protect" John Connor.

The wife and I are enjoying the show very much as well.

Summer Glau doing Ballet in this weeks episode was veeery niiiice.....

O I know... I looked her up for that link and it was actually her too, she is a ballerina.

She was good in Serenity [Movie] and Firefly [Show].. Chelle [wife] and I [ephil] have the movie and only season on DVD and we enjoy it a lot...

But really, not to derail this topic, we like the other characters a lot more then her. Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin are just great.

I was never a fan of Terminator. I've skipped this all together.... I read the Pilot was a lot better than the actual show. Something about putting more money into the pilot than the show...

Maybe I'll take a second look.....

I wasn't a fan of Terminator too much either.

I like the show (SCC) OK. It has a castmember of Firefly in it (as mentioned before), AND I liked the first 2 Terminator movies, so I'll watch it. It might not be great, but it's not bad either, and it's not as though there is a lot of other new TV to watch. As an aside, Kaylee from Firefly (Jewel Staite) is on Stargate: Atlantis now.

I'm a huge Firefly/Serenity fan. I watched a few episodes on DVD again just this week. Great cast. One of those shows where you couldn't imagine another actor doing a better job with any of the roles. It's very depressing to think we could have several seasons of that show by now, instead of a half-season + one movie.

I think next week's SCC is the 2-hour season finale.

Cameron is not evil, IMHO. She's what she appears to be, a terminator sent back into the past to protect John Connor. She MAY have additional programming. We'll see what else she knows about/is programmed to prevent if the show survives. The whole angle of "sometimes they go bad" is just thrown into the plot to spice things up, to give Reese's character something to stir the pot with.

The thing with the doors painted on the wall . . .the speculation on the intertubes is the student councilor/adviser had an affair with the student that jumped, and his door and silhouette is what is being painted. The painted doors were implying that they knew she was sleeping with the guy that talked to Cameron after the student jumped. One assumes these things will be brought up again, and resolved, if the show continues.

I got in late on Firefly, but I watched it when it was replayed a few years back. I loved it. I actually had a few episodes left to watch and the movie. Maybe that's what I'll do if I can figure out where we were.....

Your right though, every character was perfect for the role. I also think it's part of the reason I like Adam Baldwin in Chuck. It's like a slightly less offensive version of his Firefly character.

Yeah, but in "Chuck", he's also less interesting, less funny, less cool. . . Jayne was a great dumb character. Quick with the gun or fist, quick with a stupid comment or idea. Really an amoral, chaotic neutral type, but with a thin undercurrent of loyalty and decency. . .not always enough to keep him from doing the wrong thing, but enough to make him feel bad about it afterwards.

Seldom do you see a dumb, violent character written with, and played with, such nuance. No question, Adam Baldwin adds to "Chuck", but he had more to work with in "Firefly"

BTW, if you haven't seen the last episode on the DVD set yet, you're in for a real treat.

That is so true.... I don't feel like he isn't as good in Chuck as you, but I also agree that he had a lot to work with in Firefly.

Actually, I just looked through the list of episodes. I think I have seen all 14. I guess it's just the movie now....

Bummer. "Objects in Space" is great. The movie is good as well. The main antagonist is a great character for Nathan Fillion to play off of.
