Sean of the Dead is a pretty good movie. I just saw it tonight and thought it was great. It's funny, because while it's a total comedy, it has more touching moments and makes you care about the characters more than any of the other stupid ass zombie movies. The remake of Dawn was a fanstastic movie aswell, but this one I think is better. It's just got more character.
It also has the best gore scenes of any of the walking dead flicks of all time. This includes Day of the Dead. Kind of a shocker given the overall tone of the film.
I've read really good things about it. I read an article about the guy who wrote it. I believe he plays Shaun. Supposedly, it all started with a single zombie scene in a TV show he was working on. From there, it bloomed into a whole movie. If I remember correctly, they wrote it in 6 weeks.
I too will have to wait for the DVD... But I am looking forward to seeing it as soon as it comes out... From what I have heard, it is a great twist on the zombie movies out there...
There is a scene where they are going through their records, trying to decide which albums to throw at the zombies. They had to ask permission to show the covers of the albums. Only Sade and Devo gave them permission. I thought that was funny.
I just spoke with my buddy who I went to see it with and we couldn't stop talking about the subtle genius behind everything that is going. It's one hell of a well written movie. The fact that it's funny British comedy helps too...being that I'm British.
There's a line in the book "Lord of the Flys" that sums it up nicely.
"But we're British, we're better than everyone else."

I watched this movie again with a different friend. The first time we were laughing and talking about it and the second time I saw it, I wasn't laughing, nor talking. It's not that the movie wasn't as funny or as good the second time (in fact, it's better), but...it sort of evokes a different mood when you know more about the characters. Kinda of a deep bummer, actually.
I haven't gone from laughing my ass off to morbidly depressed that fast since the ending of "Jurrassic Bark". True fans will know exactly what I'm talking about there.
