I am a big fan of space exploration. I have been watching the Ansari X Prize race ever since I found out about it. Recently, Discovery aired a two part special on Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne and their development to be the first Private Company to enter Space. That show moved me. It was awesome to watch everything they were doing and to see actual footage from the test flights and even the first private flight into space. I just read another article where Burt mentions a larger White Knight (The plane that carries the rocket) and a larger SpaceShip; SpaceShipTwo........

If you are as excited by this as I am, this article is worth reading: http://www.space.com/news/rutan_interview_041014.html

Imagine, someday we may or our kids may be able to actually fly to space. How freaking cool is that?

If you got the money, you can go right now 🙂

But to be honest, it is a pretty cool thing... I only wish we could get into taveling much farther in a shorter time... But thats just the Star Trek in me... [no, I am not a "Treky", it is just a logical step to take]

Well, some guys at work mentioned they were testing anti-matter as a possible means of power production. Who knows where that will lead.

    Space...
These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission--to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Better keep them antimatter injectors harmonized.

I've watched that special on the Science Channel at least 3 times now. Pretty cool stuff. "Anybody want an M&M that's been to space?"

It would be nice to live to see the day!
Unfortunately I'm not sure that I will!
As long as we keep up the privitization of space travel I just might!

Scott, do you have one of the M&M's?

I'm with you. I've watched it about 1.5 times. I skimmed through it the second time and watched all the really good parts. Personally, I want to do the whole bubble pod, spiritual thing looking over the earth.

20 grand in a couple years and you can Atomm.

I would pay that much if I could float around, but not to show some M&Ms a good time.

Hell, I can show some M&Ms a good time now for about 20 grand less...

But ummm... We may not want to talk about that...

Don't take Ephil up on it if he offers you a bag of brown M&M's.

The antimatter thing is cool but I like that electron propulsion system where it takes forever to get going, but never ever stops accellerating do to zero drag.Over time, and the fact that the power supply never runs out, it's speed increases exponentially and eventually it will cross into the Gamma Quadrant only to be arrested for crossing into the neutral zone while spamming the airwaves with the upcoming Jamie Foxx album...a crime in any universe.
