Despite saying he would never do it, George Lucas may be thinking about making Episodes 7, 8 and 9 of Star Wars. I read a story yesterday from someone working at ILM saying that George made everyone sign NDA's stating that they would not talk about episodes 7,8 and 9 while they were in production. Here's the quote from http://www.theforce.net
You didn't hear this from me, but you might be curious as to why everyone at ILM just signed NDA's (Non Disclosure Agreement) saying that they will not discuss Star Wars EP7, 8, or 9. Since they're not being made, why the NDA's? Of course, since when has the flannel one been consistent?
I was reading that on Slashdot. As much as I have enjoyed the first 2 episodes, I feel like I need closure to episode 6. If you ask me, the real story starts there.
Think this is newsworthy? I was considering putting it on the front page. If you copy it and submit it via the Submit News link, I'll approve it and you get the credit.
This wouldn't be as diverse a community if I didn't say this. I hate Star Wars. The whole entire concept at this point. I'd rather it die with Pt. 3. Just think about it. Compare the themes and tones of each movie in succession and you'll quickly see that by part 9, it's going to star Pee Wee, Barney and the Teletubbies. Common decency laws alone will bar me from seeing that in public.
The first set of books i read as "sequels" to star wars were the ones involving Admiral Thrawn (i believe). I'm going to step out on a limb here and say I would like to see those as movies if they were done right. The only problem i would have is the age gap of the actors since the original star wars was made.
The Zahn Novels were awesome. But there is no way in hell Lucas would use them. They are way to developed and coherent, and they would let people see just how shitty 1 and 2 are. Plus I don't think he has any respect for the novels, seeing as how his whole "Bug People designed the Death Star" Plot in 2 directly contradicts the novels.
Unless the novels are dictated as such: "In a Galaxy Far Far Away, there was lots of CG. More CG enters the story. Enter live actor. ActorBGAlpha=GrnScrn*0. Actor is blocked by CG. The end.", he ain't using nothin of the sort.
i heard somewhere that though lucas doenst like all the different novels out there that he (or the company) has said that 3 writers, of which zahn is one i believe, whatever they write upon approval are considered "official" star wars storyline. but i heard that in high school so i cant say the relevance to it now.
I think they need to 're-special edition' the special edition of Jedi, to include a scene with Luke and Leia... doing the your my sister scene from JoeDirt.
I think that he needs to just stop after number 3... The theme to all the movies is turning into a after-school special type feel and is getting annoying... I am tired of C3P0's little NON-FUNNY comments... We are not in the 70's anymore... But the humor is still from that time...
