I just read through a ton of write ups on the upcoming fall line up. Here's a short recap:
Jericho - They condensed 22 episodes down to 7. Prior to the change, the arc was going to cover Jericho, New York (which survived) and the new Government location they showed at the end of season 1. Now, it's just going to tie up loose ends about Jericho.
Pushing Daisies - There have been two other shows by the producer of Pushing Daisies. One was called Wonderfalls and I loved it, but it was cut short in the first season. The second was called Dead Like Me on Showtime. I don't have Showtime, but I rented the seasons on DVD when they came out. I loved this show. It had a similiar edge to Wonderfalls. It was sort of Dry, Ironic and Jaded. Right up my alley.
Pushing Daisies is sort of like a spinoff of Dead Like Me. The main character can bring people back from the dead with a touch. However, a second touch will kill them, never to return. The main story focuses on this, but the ongoing story focuses on his relationship with his Girlfriend, who he happened to bring back from the dead. Now, if he touches her, skin to skin, she will die.
I'd recommend at least giving this a watch at first. The style should be unlike anything you've seen before.
Moonlight - Good Vampire helps the living, on CBS. Didn't we already see this? Oh yea, it was called Angel and Fox cancelled it at the height of it's ratings. Idiots....
Anyway, I like cheesy Vampire flicks, so I'll give this a go.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Speaking of Angel, Joss Whedon talked about Buffy The Vamprie Slayer, season 8. However, it's not for television. The scripts are being adapted to Comic Book. However, it will follow right where the series finally stopped. I thought that was a cool way to handle it.
Reaper - Guy finds out on his 21st birthday that his parents sold his soul to the Devil before he was born. So, he becomes a demon hunter. Not sure I get this premise. He's going to hell, so he wants to make sure it's fully populated before he gets there?
It's a CW show, aka WB, so I expect it to be marginal with the same formula for each episode and a lot of teen angst. Might as well give it a shot. After all, Supernatural looked pretty good for the first 3 episodes....
Lost - Well, I couldn't not put this on the list. But I made you work for it. It's official, Michael is back in the next season. I am not sure what this means, but I have a feeling we are going to continue the trend where the characters are back home and flashing back to the island.
Heroes - The real life artist responsible for the Isaac paintings has said he's been commissioned to deliver more paintings. However, as a fan of the series, he only finds out enough to make the painting and can't tell us who is responsible for actually creating them. Could be Sylar or Peter. Either way, it confirms that someone survived.....
Flash Gordon - SciFi brings us a series based on one the greatest Superhero Films of all time, Flash Gordon. All I have to say is it better feature the music of Queen or I'm not watching it!
Battlestar Galatica - There will be 8 webisodes leading up to the movie about the second ship coming out in November. Ronald Moore has announced that this will be the last season for the series. In a strange twist, it's not the station canceling, but the guy creating it. The more I get to know Ronald Moore, the less I like him. Of course, he's still shopping Caprica, the prequel to BSG. Like I care.......
I know there are more SciFi/Horror/Fantasy shows coming up. I just can't think of them. If you seen something that looks interesting, post it here. Feel free to comment on anything above.
