I used to own a motorcycle with more horsepower. In fact in a physics class we measured my horsepower output and I would likely rate higher than this car!!

Bubba, you have to do this for the enviroment :roflol: Just rip out the front seats and set in the back.
Yap, I've had much bigger motorcycle engines too, but always would have liked an enclosed one for wintertime.
Yes, well think of all the millions of people that can now buy it and then think of how it will hurt our enviroment. They only wanted money, instead of building an electric or hybrid small car which is really better for all. Indian cities already are over polluted, this will make the situation worse.
50 mpg? That isn't good enough for the enviroment??? You have got to be kidding me. 2500 bucks doesn't even cover the cost added per american car for the extortion fees the unions get.
Hybrids and over engineering are not the answer, this is really back to the basics. Think of how many 15mpg cars could be replaced with this worldwide. I hope Opec and Detroit are shitting themselves over this. 😈
I think the environmental concerns aren't so much with the car itself (although I could be wrong), but are more along the lines of the incredible number of new cars that could be on the roads in India (and elsewhere) because of it. Not to mention the potential pressure of world oil supplies if even 10% of the 1 Billion Indians suddenly have the financial resources to drive.
Let's face it. If we don't come up with a better fuel solution soon, no one will be able to afford gas. This just adds to the pressure to find a solution.
The real question is when will the oil companies figure out that they are going the way of the fossil fuel they harvest? IE Dead Dinosaurs.....

You do realize they have found oil fields in deep water that are larger than the total amount of oil consumed.. and then there are the oil sands of Canada that are richer than the middle east (just harder to process.. significantly)
I do realize that Silent. But, I also know that the Oil companies are not going to do anything to keep the price down. They are in the business to make profit and record profits are better than small profits.
I heard today on NPR that we had record defeceits on imports. The reason, because we imported more oil than ever.
I'm all for free enterprise, but we are not doing the things we need to keep gas prices down and I don't believe the oil companies will. Every product made is impacted by the price of oil and it's hurting our economy as much as anything.

Granted, though the increase in imports are affected by the lack of deepwater wells that are currently being drilled and the number of platforms that had to be repaired in the Gulf.. not to mention the lack of anything that resembles an oil refinery in the states.. (sarcasm: we have like 2 that are still working)
And Bubba right now depths of the drilling is at 10000FSW and a little deeper though not significant. There are deepwater wells being designed they are just finding the right place to tap the supply now. Takes time to do all that geo crap underwater, I am sure you can sympathize.
