The first, and only rule is this: NO SPOILERS outside spoiler boxes, and please label the spoiler box with general info about what they give away.

There are MANY movies coming out this year that I'm keen on seeing. . .the new Will Smith movie, Iron Man, the new Indiana Jones movie, and I'm sure SEVERAL I've missed. . .but up first (in this thread) is the sequel to "Batman Begins" - "The Dark Knight"!

    Here it the trailer:
    http://www.whysoserious.com/happytrails/trailer.htm

    And the IMDB entry:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/

The first movie was pretty damn good, and really put all the Batman movies of 1989-1995 to shame, as weird Gothic fantasies or live-action cartoons. The downside is, of course, a fair bit of Batman burnout, but the reboot of the series with Christian Bale was fantastic.

Spoiler regarding villains appearing in the first movie and the one(s) in the new movie (info all over the media and in the trailer)

It's a shame about Heath Ledger, but I'm glad that the Joker won't be back. There is SO MUCH MORE to Batman than these 3 or 4 villains they keep trotting out. I LOVED that they used the Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghoul in "Batman Begins".

    Ironman was awesome!
The Dark Knight is next on my list.
    Hulk looks like a renter
Indy looks cool, but Harrison is showing his age in the previews I saw...sad.
I can't remember the Will Smith movie?

    Hancock:

I'm DEFINITELY going to see "Iron Man". It looks very good, the info I've read is encouraging, and I'm something of a Robert Downey Jr fan. I don't see him in many things, because I won't generally watch a movie JUST because he's in it, but if he's good in "Iron Man" I may have to change that. Hope he's got his act together now.

That's right - I'm that really strong, intelligent, crazy mofo with a gun that's backing you up in a firefight!! Would you have it any other way? 😉

    I didn't give away any spoilers, so I didn't think I needed a box?! 😱

    Fixed the spoiler quote.

the reboot of the series with Christian Bale was fantastic.

I couldn't agree more. I actually stopped watching the old Batman movies after the first two. But the reboot was well worth it.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they are doing another Hulk movie. It's just strange. With that said, I liked the looks of it. Seems like Hulk rebooted ala Batman style and that may be a good thing.

Will Smith's new movie is called Hancock. It's a different kind of superhero movie.

Ok, this is kind of silly, but with a 3 year old, you get hooked on these things. The new Disney/Pixar movie "Wall E" looks really good. We will be taking the little one to see that and maybe the Jack Black animation, Kung Fu Panda.

Bane's. . .err, Judge's quote still contain my spoiler box stuff, but if no one else cares, than I don't. Just trying to avoid ruining things for others.

I'm looking forward to "Wall E" as well, and I have no children to blame it on. Funny and charming needs no excuse! From the commercials I've seen, it looks great. Pixar is out-classing Disney at every turn, although I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of CARS. Too much like actual NASCAR, maybe.

I wouldn't give a rat's ass for the new Hulk movie except Ed Norton is in it, and that automatically makes it better than the previous one.

I wish they could find a real vehicle for Jack Black. I'm of the opinion that, like Jim Carrey he needs an editor (too over-the-top too often) but I can't help thinking there's a role he'd excel in. Maybe someone's brother on a sitcom. He seems tailor-made for cartoon voices. . .Heck, he's a LIVING cartoon.

Tow Mater!!!!!!!!! Ah shucks.... I cain't believe you lepht out ol Tow......

The problem with Jack Black is their was a role made for him, but unfortunately, once you've done Tenacious D and the sequel, School of Rock, there is not much else left. He reminds me of a not as funny Robin Williams.

You know, he kind of looks like a Black Headed Philip Seymour Hoffman. Maybe he could get into a few really strange Philip like roles like Williams did with One Hour Photo, Insomnia and The Final Cut. :-)

Looks like a rental, but most things are rentals for me. I only go to big effect movies. Still, this looks funny.

    Uwe! LOL!

Did you read where he asked Blizzard to do the Warcraft movie and they said, NO!

That same article talked about the whole reason behind his bad movies. It turns out he has a lot of money and Germany had a tax loophole for making movies. When the movies performed poorly, he was getting a huge tax rebate or tax free grant or something. It's as if he wanted them to suck.

The tax hole has since been closed, so he's supposedly looking for something good to do.

I think Matt & Trey (southpark) need to do a movie with Uwe. They could call it Suckgasmo.
