The 70th Anniversary of the War of the Worlds radio broadcast

On October 30, 1938, Orson Wells and the Mercury Theater did a live recreation of H.G. Wells' novel over the radio. Some listeners, tuning in late, missed the disclaimer at the beginning of the show, and in the pre-WWII atmosphere, proceeded to collectively crap their pants. You may wish to listen to this updated, musical version by Jeff Wayne. The first part is a great live performance, thereafter, it's audio only from an iTunes DL (I can tell, the tracks are different from the CD & album releases). Some parts are pretty good. I liked the first video, but I found parts of "the spirit of man" to be. . .not so good.
