    Youtube has played a simple, but classic prank. Clicking on any of their featured videos results in a "Rickroll". From anyone else, this is just OK at best, but from Youtube, it has just the right twist to make me LOL.

    GOOGLE may have a few pranks going on. I'd heard about a link that supposedly backdates your emails - "Google Custom Time" - but I didn't see it. Instead, I saw a link to a project being put forth by Virgin Airlines and Google - "Virgle" - to populate the planet Mars.

    Go to http://www.google.com/ and see what link they have below the search box. For me, it's this:

    Heh, they even have a questionnaire to fill out to apply as a pioneer, and give you the chance to send a 30-second youtube video explaining why you want to join them. I tried to send 'em a Rickroll, but it had to be MY video, and my dedication to the joke just wasn't enough to bother to DL, then UL a Rick Astley video. No worries though, someone else HAD the dedication.

    Nice, Sarge! I loved teh HARDON collider page, but it's not really a April Fool's prank. Still in the spirit of things, though.

    Best Rickroll ever. Don't feel like you have to watch the whole thing though, the jokes pretty much up in the first 30 seconds. . .except for a small gag at 2:00

    It was created by 4chan folks. It is supposed to be funny. Sort of a "ha ha made you look" kind of thing.

    I don't really find it that funny either.

    The Rick-Roll has been something that I have enjoyed a lot on the WoW forums... You would see the posts of something like "Finally a video on how to make more gold in WoW!", click on it, "Never gonna give you up..." - DAMNIT!!!!

    Sooo many rick rolls...

    Here's one I'd missed.

    Over at The Straight Dope message board, there's an EPIC Mystery Science Theater 3000 thread. Over 1000 posts, and just 2 months short of 3 years in the making. The guy who started it has watched every nationally televised episode in order, and commented on them, with accompanying comments from others. He's up to the last episode, which was "Diabolik!"

    Instead of commenting on that episode, he instead described the following.

    MST3K 10.13 - Star Wars

    Episode Thoughts: Ah, a return to form - I was hoping the series would go out with some appropriately schlocky SF film - and what era is better for that than the 1970's? Definitely a high point.

    Movie : Sort of like Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress, with a bunch of added mystic mumbo-jumbo. I don't know how they got Alec Guiness to headline this piece of drek. The prototypical hero farmboy finds his special mystic destiny with an old wise man and a roguish pilot. They get to rescue a princess (score!) and strike a blow for independence against the cruel, oppressive government.

    Memorable Bits : The slowest, least impressive swordfight ever. The whiny hero. The effeminate gold robot. The parsec as a unit of time. "I've got a bad feeling about this." Yeah, no kidding.

    Intro: Mike and the Bots riff on heroic archetypes as presented by Joseph Campbell. Pearl and Brain Guy rig up a massive energy weapon in Castle Forrester.

    Host Segments: Crow wants to go to Toshii station to pick up some power converters, and won't stop whining about it even when Mike instantly agrees; Bobo disappoints Pearl and manages to nearly choke himself to death on a peanut; Mike tries to fight a practice drone blindfolded - it ends as poorly as one would expect for Crow and Tom.

    Finale: The SOL makes the attack run on Castle Forrester, blowing it up and going home.

    <Mike> Sandy Duncan IS Luke Skywalker.

    The ones I have I've already mixed into an AVI of the movie, so I don't have to mess around with syncing the MP3 every time I play it. I have a Philips DVD player that handles Xvid and Divx files, but usually I'll just watch them on one computer monitor while I'm doing something on the other. Dual monitors rock.

    Not coincidently, I'm also working on completing my MST3k collection. I'm something of a fan. . . 😀

    Is the Oozing Skull good? I've been debating grabbing it? I'd heard about rifftrax as well, but haven't got any of those either. IIRC, there was a third effort in the works somewhere as well too...

    Dual monitors do rock. I wish I could have mine in a better configuration thanover/under, but since they aren't the same size it is probably actually better like that.

    Managed to track down all the ip addresses to the printers and I have one person thinking that the printer is talking to them.. and only them.

    Could be that whenever they see the message it gets switched to normal before anyone else can. Quite hilarious.

    Sarge, yeah, "The Oozing Skull" was pretty good. If you want to try out the RiffTrax, I think there are some shorts you can DL, no DRM, already synced with the video. I say THINK, because there's only about 3 website's IE 5 likes, and Rifftrax.com isn't one of them. I'm actually surprised it works well here.
