    Oh nooo, Doc, plz... not thaaat a g a i n .
I don't know HOW often I listened already to that "song".
It seems to haunt me almost like this supermarket tunes, about that I had to talk to the local supermarket manager. I asked him if he wanted to keep ppl from buying and was lucky enough to having some back up of younger customers on ma side. 🙂

No, seriously: this "song" is super funny, but ...
I am not able to listen to it just 1 more time.

I love that performance in a wholly un-ironic manner. Love it.

I encouraged you to post your own favorites in the OP, and still do so.

Sorry, my favorite is not to be found on utube.

    Its a very old song.
The text goes something like this:

"...durch den Schnee, der leise fällt, wandern wir
wandern wir durch die weite weisse Welt..."

("...through snow that is silently falling we wander,
we wander through the wide white world...")

Really beautiful melodie, sung in a canon it sounds even better!
Don't help anybody to picture the song. I will look what I can find on google tho.

ok. found something, but I am not really happy with it.
instrumental. it shows the melody tho:

There's quite a story behind the Bing and David performance, most of it escapes me, but that film was done in one take.

And I'd have posted that clip, I A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y love that one.

    Good one Doc

If you go to Youtube to watch it, there's a little background info in the video comments on the right-hand side. Use the link below the posted video to go to it.

Well, it gives us an idea. . .ANY song would be underwhelming as performed in that video. Maybe we'll find a good performance of it before Christmas.

    Saintchism,

It is not my favourite but I know the song as well. Going to the Weihnachtsmarkt tomorrow, might hear it again.

Twas the month before Christmas When all through our land, not a Christian was praying,Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away the reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing, About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say - December 25th is just a day.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit, Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod - Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

At Target their trees hung upside down, At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch
    your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen - On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter's they took away faith, forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under you Dream Tree' Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say - Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

    Merry Christmas GRB

This year is so bad, even Santa needs a bailout.

  11. #15
That is funny as all heck!
  12. #16
How can anybody possibly dismiss sweet Santas claims with these perfectly logical arguments he´s got, he?

Ok. Lets asume I did not understand a f&%$& word of WHAT you are talking about, Atomm.
WHAT do you think I would do?

    1. option: read this post but forget about it.------you are wrong!
    2. option: look up the missing words and fill in the gasps.----- you are right!!!

And this is how your message looks for me, BRO:

McDowell has the Mick Jagger*Swagger (4th option from above) down pat (again 4th option from above).

So here comes the REAL explanation. I f%/&%$% up while actually intenting to reply to the NEW YEARS THREAD. Yeah. And afterwards I could not erase this message.

*who does not know Mick Jagger and his "I am swirling above all of you attitude"?

  18. #26
OK. . .(sigh). . .where the HELL do we start?

    (Time passes)

    Nope. I got nothing.

It looks like something got lost in translation, and in-between threads. I'm gonna pretend this one didn't happen, and I'll try again with the next message.
  19. #27
    Ok, I see your point.

McDowell's imitation of Mick Jaggers "attitude while walking on stage" is perfect.

Yea, that's the long draw out proper english version. 😛

Oh, I just saw that this needs to be explained:

This post did N O T refer to the incredible Duo, but to the "Norway Santa song" down below!!! BTW
This nice song, I don´t remember its name - is not available anymore on youtube - 🙁
"This video has been removed due to terms of use violation."

    DING DING DING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!

    http://gprime.net/flash.php/lapland

I've been posting that damn thing for EIGHTEEN MONTHS, and I have yet to get a SINGLE comment on it, until now! I was DETERMINED that I was gonna get SOMEONE to say something, and by God, I was gonna KEEP posting it until I did! I didn't care if it was a good comment or a bad comment, I just thought it was too weird and too funny and it NEEDED a comment of some sort. Wow, when another Christmas came and went without a comment, I thought for sure I'd be doing it for ANOTHER year.

Now. . .what sort of prize does such a feat deserve? I guess I'll throw you some 'points' for starters, and think on it awhile.

    Good Jorb!

And the video I thought you were referring to (the one removed due to terms of use violations) was Bing Crosby and David Bowie singing, "The little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth"

Another item I think was overlooked in this thread. Unless you all want me to start ANOTHER year-plus tradition, I suggest you get on the ball and click on the "reply" button 😈

    OK, that qualifies 🙂

Batman was a dick to Superman (Batdickery?) Superman punches out Batman while kids watch, and both dress up in stupid Bat-and-Superman-themed Santa suits. How can you NOT love it?

That was great! Now I know why I was always a Marvel guy.
