So I'm travelling to the crappy side of PA next week. Anything I should see while Im out there in the land culture forgot?

Oh and as an added bonus I get to goto a free Pirates game. I think they give the tickets away with your purchase of a whopper now.

I was gonna say which side, both are crappy... then you mentioned the Pirates ;p

Dunno, depends on what your interested in. Plenty of culture here, just check the visitors center when you get into town. There's inclines, overlooks, river boats, science center, stuff like that.

Personally I never go downtown unless its a matter of life or death even though my daughter goes to music school down there ;p I let the wife handle those details.

Excuse me????? "crappy side", "land culture forgot"

    WTF!!!! ???

Pittsburgh may not be New York but it has a LOT of culture and things to do man!

    Sheesh!!!!!!!!

Way to insult a place you never been to....

The Pirates have not a good team (though so far this year they are doing well) I admit but the park is gorgeous and can compare to any other in the nation!

Now thats the kind of response I was fishing for =p
I've been to pittsburg alot, my mom lives just over an hour outside of Pburgh. But Ive never actually had time to kill while I'm there. Usually I'm busy as hell.

And I was just kidding about everything but the pirates tickets.

🙂 Pal, ya need to travel abit. Pgh is about at the bottom of the food chain ;p. If I'm not mistaken Mega is from Philly or thereabouts, so he's allowed a wisecrack. PA is a tale of two cities, both that have to compete for taxpayer funds 🙁

There is so much more to do in Philly certainly, but at the expense of getting anywhere there. F'in place is hugh and there are a couple of neighborhoods you definitely don't want to get into by mistake.

Besides, I hate Pgh and PA. Its just a depressive over taxed liberal domain 😡

I thought he was kidding but was not 100% sure 🙂
Pittsburgh is not to be hated just because of it's politics man. If that was the case you would not want to live in 99.98% of anywhere 🙂

    🙂

Lexx Pgh is not really the bottom of the food chain man. I have a unique perspective as I talk to a LOT of students that travel a lot. I ask them what they like and dis-like about various places around the world. I have learned a lot over the years even though I don't travel myself.

Most really like Pittsburgh and that is compared to New York, Chicago, LA etc...
I know you are thinking they just say that to be nice, but they are honest, you can tell. They do add the stuff they hate as well etc...

Megaron too bad you won't have time so we could meet up man.

Yeah this is a surgical strike into Pburg. I got 2 nights free and its me and a buddy from work. Next time I come out to pittsburg, I'll bring you a shirt from a team that doesnt pay the refs off to win superbowls.

Oh I agree. Ever been to Detroit or Chicago? Yuck. Problem is we are so damn land locked. Not as bad as OK, but bad enough. Shitty weather, shitty politics, bleak economic outlook and urban flight haven't helped matters the last couple of decades. Maybe I'm just sick of paying extra so the universities, hospitals, and sports teams can enjoy so many perks.

I know your a home town boy here, but there are still a couple of dozen red states left, so make that 45% better places to live ;p

Oh come on you cant be that naive to say the last two Steeler superbowls haven't been fixed?
Christ on a shingle, roughing the placeholder? What kind of bs penalty is that. The cardinals outplayed the Steelers every minute of that game and got bs after bs flag thrown at them.

Well I'm back from the Pitt and it is good to be home. I must say it was a nice time out there, but man I couldn't handle driving over those bridges and through all those tunnels every freaking day. I ate at the Fish Market @ the Weston Hotel last night, and man was that good. It wasn't amazing food but it was indeed good.
