The Real Story: Iraq

As most of you know I am a huge fan of Glenn Beck. If you were smart you would at least listen to his radio show and/or watch his CNN TV show. In the very least do it for a month, then talk to me. He is a very reasonable, smart guy and knows what he is talking about.

You also know how much I support our troops and our military in general. Those guys are simply the best, period. I personally get sick of the liberal media like the New York Times and others with their reporting of nothing but the bad side of things.

This is an E-mail Glenn Beck sent out. It shows some of the good. It is short.

Here's How I Got There . . .

As most of you probably know, I grew up outside of Seattle, Washington. My career in radio has taken me all over the place…Baltimore, Tampa, Philadelphia…and now I work in New York City. I’m a pretty regular guy (okay, not exactly—but close) and not much different from most of you. I’ve been married, divorced, married again, and a father four times along the way. So how then did I get on such a kick about this Islamic Extremism, World War III, End-of-the-world business…and why is it so important to me that I get you informed about it as well? Well, it’s really pretty simple.

First of all, I love my family more than anything and will do anything to keep them safe. They are my life, so even the hint that something or someone might threaten them gets me riled. But even more directly than that, I care because someone presented the information to me. Given the stark, undeniable facts and evidence, it was impossible for me to not get infuriated. And I know that you’ll feel the same—the truth is too compelling to ignore.

You guys know that I’m essentially a rodeo clown who got a lucky break getting to do what I do. But at the same time, because of my job, I get exposed to a lot of information that most people don’t. For instance, I didn’t know about the documentary “Obsession” until someone sent it to me, and it’s been that way with all kinds of books and videos and articles—people think I can help get their idea exposure, so they send me their stuff. Sometimes the ideas are, how can I say this, um…"eccentric?" But other times I get to see stuff that blows me away and I can’t believe that these stories aren’t on the front page of every newspaper and leading every newscast in the country. And because I’m this rodeo-clown-made-good and not a super serious newsman or journalist, people aren’t afraid to extend themselves. And that makes us both lucky.

So even if you don’t consider yourself a "politics" person or can’t see how what’s happening on the other side of the world has anything to do with you, I’m asking you this: if you’ve ever enjoyed one of my dumb jokes or learned something or simply got through the day a little easier by tuning in to me, watch my show on Wednesday night. I believe with all of my heart that I’m going to give you some crucial information that will fundamentally change the way you view just about everything. I know that sounds like a pretty tall order, but like it or not, we’re living in a world where what we think about God (whatever that word means to you) has put us at odds with some pretty dangerous people. Just think back to 9-11 if you still need convincing—3000 innocent lives were taken by extremist thinking and behavior, and literally millions more here and across the West are at stake if we don’t snap out of our complacency.

The lines between us and them are very clear, and if you don’t know where they are or who’s on which side, I promise to explain everything. Wednesday night may be the most important TV show I ever do and I’ve worked harder to get it on the air than anything in my entire career. It’s that important to me. And while you may not realize it yet, it’s important to you too.

It is a one hour special that I think it is important so posted it.
