I never read the comic, but a few of us from work are going on Friday Night. I'm running solo, so I can actually go this time. Figured it would be good to pretend I have friends IRL..... 😛

I never read the comics either. The movie does have that "Wow this is going to be really cool" look.
I will try to go see this in the *VIP seats.

*We have a local theater that has what they call VIP seating. it costs more but you get the best seats and they are reserved so you don't have to try rush to get there earlier. They are also on the balcony and straight across from the screen. You also get to sit in a nice big leather chair. I don't go to the movies often but when I do I like to go this way. 🙂
    It is worth it.

I just go to the matinee. After the first week or two, EVERY seat is a VIP seat at the matinee. There's like 10 ppl in the whole theater. 🙂

The VIP seats are very nice, but the matinee is 4x cheaper. 👍

Ok, so I won't spoil it for you guys.

    I really dug it.

The action is well done. The story is complicated, but I think they did a great job of interweaving everything. I think I may have enjoyed it more because I didn't know what to expect. It's a long movie, so not knowing kept me wondering what was going to happen next.

There is a lot of blue penis, maybe too much, but if you can't get past that, you'll do fine.

It's the closest I've come to the epic feeling that Lord of the Rings left me feeling. That should tell you how much I liked it.

I wanted to see it, but all I keep hearing about is the blue penis throughout the whole movie. somehow that just turns me away. I did go see Coraline 3D this weekend. It was a great movie

    Bubba = Fail

It's not that bad Bubba. It's a big blue CG penis if that helps..... 😛

I mean I can deal with alot but by the accounts I heard it was a huge blue penis every second of the movie...

It wasn't that bad. Sounds like someone was obsessed with big blue penises....

    It's a great story....

Which BTW, I read today that the characters are based on the original Charlton Comic characters. I actually use to buy Charlton Comics in the mid 80's.

wikipedia wrote:Charlton's most enduring legacy is its superhero characters, most of which were acquired in 1983 by DC Comics, where Giordano was then managing editor. These "Action Hero" characters were originally going to be used in the landmark Watchmen limited series written by Alan Moore, but DC then chose to save the characters for other uses; Moore instead developed new characters loosely based on them.

I finally saw it. Good. Pretty damn good. I saw the shorter version a few days back, and tonight, I saw the "director's cut". Of course, as is usually the case, the director's cut is much better.

There's one needless change they made from the comic that irritates me:

In the movie, when Rorschach questioned the man in the bar, he broke his fingers until he talked. In the comic, that scene was made much better by Rorschach torturing the man. . .until THE OTHERS talked. He walks into a rough bar filled with low-lifes, and was so cruel that he made them talk out of pity and compassion for someone else. I liked that little twist, and it was so unnecessary to change it. They made that scene just like every other interrogation scene ever filmed. . . needlessly.

They also changed the specifics of the ending, although they kept the essence of it, and I don't object to that much. Good movie,
    💀 💀 💀 💀 ☠️ out of five skulls.
