I really just wanted to show it off!!!! I have not yet tried SWTOR or BF3 on the big screen yet.

The Super Bowl pics don't do the picture any justice due to the ambient light and white balance, but it looks almost as good as the Racing Game pic even with lights on dim.

WOW.........nice.

the first thing that popped into my mind was band of brothers....the series, not the game.

kicks the shit out of my 42" plasma, with $99 surround.

How big is the screen?

I have a gameroom where my computer desk is located, but it's a 14x15 room with windows and a ceiling fan, so I'm not sure what I want to do with it. Mostly I'm just cheap and don't want to spend any money on it.

The screen is 102", the room is 14' x 23'. The projector at its current location can do up to 106" but I already had the screen built. The screen cost me $250 to build...it is made of aluminum square tubing, velcro and Wilson Art Designer White Countertop Laminate..the border is 2x3 painted black, mitered and wrapped in black velvet curtains from walmart.

the most expensive part was the wiring and the projector. The projector ran me $1900 shipped. The 5.1 Surround I have had for ages and bought it as a set for $650 almost 10 years ago.

Didn't realize I was in a couple of the townhome pics...that was almost 4 years ago and about 40 lbs heavier.

Makes me feel slightly inadequate with my measly 55" screen 🙁

I so wanted a 100" screen, but my room just isn't big enough. That looks awesome!

I am eyeing a 70" or 80" Sharp LED LCD for the room, but I just don't want to spend that kind of money right now.

There are cheaper 1080p projectors than what I bought and 720p projectors that are sub $1k. The real beauty in projectors is the screen size is easy to change, you just have to get a new screen for a bigger one.

The real expense in projectors are the lamps, they run about $250-$500 a pop and last from 1500-3000 hours.

FPS gaming would not be great on projectors however, due to input lag.

I have a projector + screen lying around. My wife found the screen material for real cheap on eBayz and I wrapped it with some 1x2 with flat black paint.. looks nice. Just since the move we went to a crazy windows windows everywhere house as such no real place that a projecter even with a short throw/11'+ screen would do, and it was 720p with us being tired of replacing the bulb every few years.

That being said, want it? It is just lying around, the screen I might be able to remove from its frame and send it your way. I would have to look up what BenQ model/throw distance it is, but it could do you for something.

I was using it to MMO on FFXI back in the day. My wife did the laptop while I had the projector on the couch, in a window heavy house again... still it worked, at the time the 2k lumens was a big deal.

Thanks for the offer Silent, but I don't think I'll use it. I haven't figured out what to do with the ceiling fan. I'd get rid of it, but this room has vaulted ceilings and only about 8 inches of insulation between the sheetrock and the shingles. I wouldn't even know how to wire it with no attic space to work in.

It's part of the reason I decided to go the LED LCD route.

Yeah, we had it sitting behind the couch so it showed overhead when we were sitting down, we also had it in our coffee table at one house. We have since moved to the massive LED/LCD screens ourselves. Just for aging reasons and the lack of permanance in the ability to put it anywhere else.
