So... I have been sitting here looking at this code for work thinking "WTF! This should be working fine! It works fine in our dev environment so why is ONE person having issues?"
Problem is... I have been doing this for the past two days... Thought that I found something yesterday but I missed one line of code that omitted it as the issue...
So... Grr...
That is what I am dealing with today....
How is everyone else doing?
I am dealing with trying to catch up after taking 3.5 consecutive days off of work.
First two days were sorting out my degree, which finally has an end to it, the third was at a lousy conference.
Short story to get you to laugh at my expense. So Tuesday night we have a blizzard come through, probably 5-6 inches of snow. Then Weds morn that turns over to rain. I leave my hotel to goto my workshop, my car is buried in the now ice, so I stand in the pouring rain and shovel my car out. I get to my meeting and have to walk forever in the rain to the building.
The meeting is as US Fish and Wildlife building. The building was built in the middle of a wetland (hello people this is what you spend your days in the building trying to preserve.) The plantings around the building are all invasive species.
I leave the meeting and get completly soaked through with rain again, so I put my coat on the seat next to me and drive 4 hours home (It's a 2.5 hours drive, but the rain is so bad). I get home and pass out. I wake up this morn and put on my coat... still soaked through so I figure I don't need a coat I will just deal with the 20 degree temps, it's not a long walk from my car to my office. I leave my place to realize my tire is flat. So i get out to deal with it and realize it's cold. so I pumped up my tire and drove to work.
Now i can't wait to go out this afternoon and see if my tire is still inflated.

I've been working on a transportation corridor study forever. I have days were I make great progress only to find something that sets me back to square one. I've spent the last week revising something that should have taken a day or two and I have at least a couple more days of work to do on it still. I'm beginning to be convinced that this project will never, ever, ever end 🙁
At least here I can blame my problems on Bubba 😉

I have now just expressed to my team that everything is working fine and this persons issue is not possible... Thus... No problem exists...
I dont think that will be the end of this though...
Of course it won't be the end of it. But maybe putting it down for a while will let you see it with fresh eyes the next time it crops up.
Yeah, I don't see them letting me do that... There is something else that they threw at me to fix... I might see if I can fix that real fast and then come back to this...
This is just stupid... thousands of entries are correct... 1 is off... and I can't prove how this one got off or how to make it right...
I know how that is Ephil... last week I made a map with tax parcels on it. thousands of parcels had the correct labels, approx 30 had incorrect and i got reamed out over it.
I got pretty much the other task done that was shot over to me... I say pretty much due to this...
Going to put on a little skit that pretty much details what I go through a lot...
Customer: I need you to do this.
Me: Ok
[Moments Later]
Me: Ok customer, I have done that for you.
Customer: Are you going to do the rest of it?
Me: Rest of what? You asked me to do this... I did this... I can't do any more of this...
Customer: You can get with [insert someone else on my teams name here] and he can tell you more about it.
Me: [inside voice] WTF!
Me: /im [other person on team] You there?
IM Window: Unable to send message: Not logged in
Me: /im [team chat] Is [person] here?
Team: Nope
Me: [Flips of monitor and goes to vent on website to friends...]
I'm playing catch up.....
Let's see... I start my day off by looking over the network trace that a hospital sent to me to figure out why the clients are having problems communicating with the server. Duh, they all run Microsoft?
No? That's not it? Damn....
I start using a new network analysis software we just bought. I have a eureka moment and things start to fall in place. I isolate the problem to a four step fix process and hand it back to the person that sent to me in the first place. I so love doing that..... :-)
I run off to the training room to take more training on the very software I used earlier to find a problem. I sit and watch an online training session for 3 hours, then rush back to my desk and start working on a VPN tunnel that doesn't work.
The best part is I am troubleshooting something that I am 99% sure is not working because the guy on the other end is a pain in the ass and acts like he has no time to do this, even though his hospital is spending big bucks for our software. After 3 hours of doing this, I narrow it down. Turns out, he told me to do one thing and he did another. Great.
Ok, it half works. Now there is a different problem. Bloody Hell, what kind of moron am I dealing with. I email to fix problem 1 before I start digging into problem 2 and go home.
On the way home, I swing by the Cheesecake Factory because I'm a good husband and it's supposedly one of those good husband days. 2 hours later, I'm home with dinner.
I watch Survivor and Lost and jump on the forums.... Life is good.....
