    If you think it's a no-brainer that humans are causing catastrophic global warming, here's your opportunity to earn an easy US $100,000!

    First person to prove it, wins it!

    CHALLENGE
    $100,000 will be awarded to the first person to prove, in a scientific manner, that humans are causing harmful global warming. The winning entry will specifically reject both of the following two hypotheses:

    UGWC Hypothesis 1
    Manmade emissions of greenhouse gases do not discernibly, significantly and predictably cause increases in global surface and tropospheric temperatures along with associated stratospheric cooling.

    UGWC Hypothesis 2
    The benefits equal or exceed the costs of any increases in global temperature caused by manmade greenhouse gas emissions between the present time and the year 2100, when all global social, economic and environmental effects are considered.

    Did you see the movie? You would need to have a control for one, and then thousands and thousands of years of data after this point in time to be able to scientifically prove such a thing. Now you can look at trends and make predictions, but this contest doesn't allow that.

    Ice cores contain data from thousands of years ago.
    Ice core samples provided some evidence that Antarctica was once believed to be tropical. 🙂
    They have found forests buried under what is now all snow.

    Okay I will stop now 😉

    Seriously guys, I know we all feel pretty strong about this one way or another, but let's not hate on each other. I mean, I can tell Bubba he's wrong until I'm blue in the face and all it will get me is nice asphyxiation trip...... And he can do the same to me, but it won't do any good.....

    My point is that if you can't discuss anything without resorting to name calling or blaming "liberals", Al Gore, the media, or China, then don't get involved. Being of more of a liberal bent than most of you seem to be, I take it personally. Given the time, I would make the attempt to destroy all of the quasi-arguments that get posted with nothing to back them up. However since many of you don't have any respect for an opinion of a person who might be liberal, and so wouldn't believe or listen to them anyhow, I'm not going to bother.
