Sweet Zombie Jesus. I haven't been able to sleep more than 4 hours a day since I started taking my prednisone. I have a dr's appt today, and I really wanted to get some sleep so I could talk in complete sentences. I ended up taking something to help me sleep, and it worked - then at 9 in the morning, construction ppl went into the upstairs apartment and started tearing up the floors with picks, hammers and shovels. They're tearing up the concrete floors, and then the wood flooring as well. The noise is INCREDIBLE. It's like they're in MY apartment doing it.

I especially appreciate that they started in the room above my bedroom first. Looks like another 4 hour day.

This is like the worst place I've ever lived. Paladin fully appreciates the weight of that statement, as he's seen one particular place I've lived.

That is how it always happens. One semester in college I was taking something like 27 credits (more than twice that of a fulltime student). I had one particular Physics lab class that on a weekly basis or so required me to pull an all nighter to meet deadlines. The good news was the day after that all nighter I would always have from 10am to 3pm off. Somehow though one of my neighbors would always show up and blare music or any other annoyance to ensure I didn't get any sleep.

Nothing was as bad as the time I was up 76 hours straight trying to finish a map for a engineering course. Of course what field did I go into professionally??

    Wasn't that porcupines?

Do you consider that a field? Maybe a field of porcupines is better?

Mmmm, field of Bacon. . .

Incedently, they were at it again today. They spent 6 hours working on the floor above (also know as MY CEILING), tearing up cement and boards. They knocked down a globe for one of out ceiling lights from the pounding they're laying down, and drove three nail/screws thru our plaster in the living room. More is scheduled tomorrow.

Worst place I ever lived. We spent 5 months without a broiler in our oven, and we haven't had both bathroom lights working at the same time in the 3 years we've been here.

I've been pounding down 600 sqft of Brazilian cherry flooring this week. I know your pain ;P Lots of sawing, pounding, power tool noises, and cursing of course 🙂

Sounds like you have a couple of 400 pd gorilla's working up there. When selecting an apt you have to weight less steps to live lower and suffer a tenant above.

There is always the moving somewhere else card or you could ask to take possession of the new apt 🙂

I hate working in apt complexes anymore. Your gonna piss someone off. Last week on a crowded street tenants purposely blocked in my truck as if that would even out the noise I made 🙂

They've been working on the apt upstairs every weekday since my first post, including Monday morning.

I was still sleeping when they started working again this morning. I'd played a game of Left 4 Dead Sunday night, and I guess it was still in my mind. When they started working, they were shaking the building so much that a TANK charged into my dream. . . I'm not joking. Kinda weird waking up from that and the house is shaking and banging is coming from upstairs.

This is the worst place I've ever lived. 12 days of this crap, minus weekends.
