Why I Like Heavy Metal

    It looks like I am doing a lot of self discovery today.... Yes, I was a gifted, yet alienated teenager who turned to Heavy Metal to deal with the stress of life.

    In fact, I still turn to Heavy Metal to deal with the stress of life.

    I started listening to punk as a for the same reasons, that and it was about as far away as you could possibly get from the C&W that my Dad listened to in sound anyway. A lot of the old time country has what might be called a punk attitude as opposed to the swill that is on the radio today.


    I remember hearing Black Flag, Husker Du, and Minor Threat for the first time and thinking "Wow, these guys are angry! Cool". I could understand that. The added benefit was that there are no guitar solos 😆
