it has so much potential. You can run the slowest DDR you can find and you wouldnt be able to see much difference in speed. If they could make those boards double sided.. or single sided and stand the sticks up all the way. I drool over it. But i think id rather spend my money on the ageia physics processor
I had to look up the Ageia to see what you would be spending your $ on. WOW! That would be amazing. If I understand it correctly, it would do wonders for gaming. Sounds like it would take a serious load off the proc and the vid card.
yea it would be awsome. Just not sure how good it would work with sli. Not sure if they will be pci or pci-x. havnt seen any sli boards yet that have 3 pcix slots.
It would be awsome for games like bf2.. You would be able to have realtime damage to buildings n stuff like that. Would be nice shelling a building with a tank,, and taking a chunk out of the concrete, and able to slowly destroy buildings n stuff. Processors can halde about 3000 objects on the screen befor they start getting crappy(modern ones), the card is said to be able to handle 32,000 objects.

I am familiar with the Ageia physics processor. It is cool but will take some time for games to be written to take advantage of it. There was another processor out before acting as a GPU that was promising as well. I cannot remember the name now.

I am guessing looking at this it won't be long before you see solid state drives go mainstream. SOOOOO much faster than a mechanical drive. If they could make them persistent without power like nvRAM they would have one heck of a product. This is really cool but the idea of having your drive go away after a 10+ hour power failure kind of sucks. I suppose you could image it onto a hard drive and restore the image in the event of catastrophic loss. The idea of having to install BF2, the expansion packs and patches all over again after such a loss is not really aceptable to me. I have a UPS but still... oh well. Still most excellent! Being able to make them into an array is REALLY cool too. My ASUS SLI main board has 8 SATA II connectors on it... 5 are still available! :shock: No way I could get that many cards in there though! Well and there is the money thing. Kind of reminds me of the old 'hardcards' from way back in the day.
