Would you pay to be in a tourney to win stuff?

    Hey.

    I'm Chris, and I run 9412 - The Rock Station, a classic rock internet station with live dj's that take requests every day and night too.... we've been on air for over four years and get on average 2000 listeners per hour.

    I'm thinking outside the box about Internet Radio fundraising... and we need to raise funds for streams, licensing, etc.

    Would there be interest for a tourney of (INSERT GAME HERE) for say $10 per person or $5 per person with prizes of sweatshirts, t-shirts and hats from 9412 - The Rock Station? Obviously, there would have to be at least $200 raised to make $100 with the other $100 for the costs of the prizes... The more raised then so be it.

    Thoughts?

    To be honest, if it is for a good cause, then I dig the idea more then just to have a touney for prizes... I dig your idea and think that you should go for it if you get enough people supporting it!

    Chris,

    I just don't have the time. I think it's a good idea, but most gamers tend to be younger and don't have as much disposable income. That is going to be your biggest hurdle.

    I wish I could help, but I'm to my ears just trying to keep this site going and studying for my CCNA. (again)
