    For real this time.

In the past, i would just stop paying and be like ehhhhh i am done. Then a few months later i would start dreaming of eq at work, and i would eventually just start secretly playing behind my wifes back.... 3 times now.

A few months ago i was in a raid for almost 6 hours, was up until 4am... and i won the roll on an awsome item....... 5 minutes later the server goes down for some reason. The gms ended up doing a reset for like 15 minutes prior to the server crash. I lost my item and after much debate with the gms, i did not get it back. I was so mad, sooooooo mad.

I felt as if i could have taken somebodies life if they were in the room with me.

Then i thought to myself.... wtf is wrong with me, this is not real life, this is stupid getting this mad over something that is not even real. So i logged into both of my guilds in eq1 and eq2.. said goodbye. I then went to each of my 10 characters and deleted them all. Now i have nothing to go n back to. I called Sony and told them to close and delete the entire account, but of course they wouldnt because the punks wanted me to be able to come back and not have to pay for the game.

So 2 months now and not even a flinch of wanting to go back. I guess with the 3rd baby on the way in 2 months, and moving... my mind has been occupied and it has helped.

I occasionally play eve online, but that is perfect for the casual gamer. The skill training is totally different than eq. In eq you have to sit there and grind and use your skills to keep them up, which keeps you sitting at your desk. In eve you go in your menu, right on a skill, click train.. If it says it will take 5 days... ok i log back in in 5 days to choose a new skill. I am training 1 right now that is taking 28 days. Also, if a skill train takes you past your payment date, it will keep training. If you were training a skill that took 100 days(not sure if there are any), you could just not pay for 2 months, come back and it would be done.

Lets see what else do i play.. just started assassins creed. I play carmageddon 3 with my wife, i play worms 4, pocket tanks lan lol.

My new hobby is 3d art. I use maya and vue to make 3d landscapes and scenes.

Grats on kicking the EQ habit. 🙂

I still have my WoW account... Don't know why though... I logged onto it last week and ran around for about 5 min... After that I was just bored and quit out of the game...

I should cancel that and stop paying for it...

Congrats in getting off of the RPG Crack and for the new little one on the way!

I wish I had the patience and the time for some of these RPGs. Eve looks interesting, but I just want to be able to pick up a game and not try to remember where I left off. Shooters are perfect for that 😀

Welcome back EvilTomatoe....! 3rd Kid? Man, with EQ1 & 2, when did you have time for 2 more kids? That's rhetorical. 😛

You should check out CoD4. If I know you, then you've got a system than can run it well.

Wow I am SOOO glad I only like FPS games. I run the game, get my ass kicked then I am done. I would never have the patience to build a character and spend all that time doing stuff just to gain levels etc... I already lost a good friend to WoW. He used to game with us etc.. but got addicted to that game and I have not really talked to him the past few years at all.

I also agree that letting it get to you like that is strange. As you said it is only a game. Sometimes the smallest things we get mad over is funny in the end. 🙂

Trust me... This is not an odd thing in a mmorpg... You spend soooo much time working to get something... And by time... I mean HOURS/DAYS/WEEKS/MONTHS... This is real life time that has kept you from spending time with family/friends/etc...

The second something goes wrong... It is time to go nuts...

mmorpgs are the devil... Period... They really are too addictive imo and can screw up many parts of your life...

ha yea i have a machine that can play it. I finally got out of overclocking. Wasted too much time. I had a quad core overclocked to 4.6ghz on phase change..ran like a madman...but eh, my case weighed 100lbs and i dont want a ticking bomb near my kids with all that freon lol.

Now i just stick to thermalright heatsinks. Got them on the cpu, both graphics cards, and briges.

and omgggg i havnt upgraded in a year lol.

Still got the qx6700 just running at a same air coloed oc of 3.6ghz
volt modded my 8800 ultras to get an extra 250mhz out of them.

hell i put a custom firmware on my router.. bumped the transmit voltage up to 250ma... put a fan in it and put heatsinks on the chips.

But yea i downloaded COD4 the other day. If i like it, i will buy it. I have crysis, that is pretty fun

Again, let me state for the record I tried the COD4 demo and hated it. The demo is single player. The multiplayer is great, I am addicted.

It gives you an idea of the weapons and you can see the models and environment, but there's more action in MP.

Tons more action in MP. BUT it IS a sweet single player. I usually hate single player games, but I played thru CoD4s. And for the record CoD4 rules. So you should go ahead and buy it and come play with us.

Yah, we all do. I think between the combination of consoles and morphs the gaming community is getting pretty damn thin any more.

I also have to wonder if the low, real low prices of servers have diluted the players down too much. Back when a server cost $3+ a slot, you knew you may have to wait in line.
