I just preordered a BF Heroes server because it gave us 16 Beta Keys. The keys are handed out on Friday. If you would like a Beta Key, please let me know.
Priority will be given in this order.

Once we've finished this allotment, I will open it up to Cartel Members on a first come, first serve bases.
I'm not sure if we get our server during the beta, but if we do, let's fill that puppy up as much as possible.
<chicks voice> My Name is Sarge... I would like a beta key Atomm... please PM it to "Sarge", I am writing this message under Bubba's name cause he is way awesome!!!! </chicks voice>
This is the single hardest game I have ever tried to get access to. Even when I beta'd EOD and had to FTP the files and manually replace speciific files. they make you make three acoounts all different and tie them all together. Not sure why 3, couldn't 1 just work?
As of now I don't not have access because I don't know where or when my security3_ access account is or where it came from......
F'n EA has already f'd up this game and I haven't even accessed it yet.
Mark it... First crash. About 5 min from my last post I made it into the game, then played, crashed and rebooted. So I have it at 8 minutes in game til first solid crash
Atomm it'll be interesting to see how you handle this game. I am dizzy as shit from the few minutes I have played... increased resolution helped, but not enough. I am going to shut my eyes for a few minutes.
Atomm wrote:Yea, I'm now dizzy as shit too..... It looks amazing..... Pardon me while I go lay down or throw up, which ever comes first.
This could almost have been the o-tone of my first half-life2 experience. I felt dizzy as hell and all my appetite was gone all of a sudden. After just a couple of minutes - it felt like eternity - I had to break up and lay down a bit. No kidden.
So, here I am now... asking for a beta-key for BattleFieldHeroes.
And only because I want to game with ya ppl ... I must be crazy.
But aw - here is what I found on youtube - to prepare myself for the things to come - just how long does it take to choose all the options before you can actually start the game ?
A whole lot of the game heavily reminds me of TF2.
It looks incredible. The controls don't feel like they match the way it looks.
You have to create three seperate accounts and that was a royal pain in the bottom. One is a beta account, so I'm sure their will only be two.
It's confusing initially how to get going. It took me three times to actually get into a game.
I'm not sure what made me so sick. It hit all of the sudden after about 15 minutes of playing.
I think this could be fun, but yet again another game I can't play. I'm seriously considering giving up gaming all together.....
That sucks. Did you investigate what Bubba posted about monitors and dizziness back in February? /forums/geeks-r-us/monitor-lag-5887/" target="_blank">http://forums.gamersradionetwork.com/index...87&hl=dizzy
I'm sure that's part of the problem. I've been considering bringing my 19" crt back into the house. I don't want too, but I need something better.
I'm still considering buying another monitor based on time lag. I looked at the ones I' posted in the thread, but most were either EU only or discontinued. Might try Ebay down the road.
Atomm wrote:Lexx, it is third person. You are still welcome to a key if you want one.
Oh.... I did not realize that it was not 1st person. Okay if you need my key for someone else it is cool. I doubt I will play it and have not DL-ed it or anything. Been busy..
I figure if the game is making me sick as a dog... Atomm you are doomed. I think its because of the odd angle and the lack of control over the character. I found the 3rd person view left me spinning more than normal.

If you have a CRT you can use, it sounds like a cheap short-term fix until you can get a handle on a good LCD. You use a 2 monitor setup, right?
OK so I tried again tonight. Didin't get quite as sick and dizzy, but my god, has anyone at dice/ea played this game?? I mean I don't get too motion sick and it was messing me up pretty good still. I think its all the dynamic movement of the POV as you get near things.
Beyond that, the game just isn't fun. Your guy moves slower than death and there isn't any fun to be had. It seems they tried hard to copy TF2 and just sapped the enjoyment out of it.

Anyone else tried this yet??
(Sigh)
No. I feel kinda bad about it, seeing as Atomm went and got a server, but if no one is liking it, or can even play it without getting sick, I don't see the point in MY trying it. Even if I like it, who will I game with?
I've been playing Left 4 Dead quite a bit lately. Just the Co-Op version so far - no playing as the zombies, no attacking your fellow players. I'm enjoying the "working together" aspect, as opposed to the "put a bullet in your friend's head" type of gameplay. Also been working on that AIMP2 skin I rambled on about in /forums/geeks-r-us/doc-stretches-his-gfx-muscles-6039/" target="_blank">this thread.
Doc, I am the only one so far, I think Atomm played it for a few min, but give it a try. Atomm gets dizzy over everything. You and I haven't agreed on alot of games, so at least give this a try.
I noticed everyone had cooler stuff than me, and I wondered ifyou could buy new weapons and such in-store. I don't know if the guns available ARE the 'cool guns', but I notice if you pay for them, they only last for a week. I played for like an hour, and earned 10 points. The lowest-cost item I saw were 'wrist-wraps', which were 70 points, and lasted for a month.
Sweet zombie jesus, what a money-making racket! I don't think I want to get wrapped up in this one. . .if we game with it, we might want to lock-down the server to keep out the kiddies who spend all their time and money leveling up.
And yeah, it's painfully slow, and I can see where folks are getting dizzy.
Bubbaspanky wrote:Hahahaah Atomm, Our plan worked!!! We got him to play it even though it sucked 😉
If only that were the worst thing I was ever talked into. . .
Strange game, rrrrrrrrrreally slow-moving, but it's disorienting even at that speed.
I have to question the wisdom of EVER, EVER, making a 3rd-person game. Do we REALLY need to see the back of our own heads in-game? It's not the view we have in everyday life. Logically, the mode that most closely mimics our everyday POV would be the most natural and easiest to use. More than a decade of goofy, spinning camera angles should be enough to make anyone think twice about making 3rd-person games.
DocJon wrote:Well, if by "load it onto my machine" I meant, "Install it" (and I did), I think we can safely say it needs that. 😛
You didn't know you are now the NA BF Heros server?? It was part of the license agreement. All they really install is spyware, the game itself is online.
Thanks, that'll work. Sorry I've been a bit absent... in good news (maybe) I was able to obtain CoDW@W. It's actually kinda fun. I don't know if anybody actually plays it still... but anywho; I've been pretty stoked about the BF Heros, so hopefully I'll get some good action in it. 🙂
