Diablo II.1 goes gold.
I received email today from Blizzard about Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. It has gone gold and will be in stores June 29th, 2001.
“We are delighted that Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is complete, stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder, “We have worked very hard on increasing the gameplay and depth of Diablo II with this expansion and are quite proud of our accomplishments. With the addition of new character classes and areas to explore, we believe we have created a truly compelling product that will appeal to both avid Diablo players and novice gamers alike.”

Hooker dies at 83.
Boom Boom and Boogie Chillin. You may not know these songs, but if you listen to rock, you should. They are the two biggest hits of one of the most influencial Blues guitarist of our time, John Lee Hooker. So many bands can trace their way back to him. He was one of the first bluesman to influence a generation outside the US including Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and the openers for his European Tour in 1961, The Rolling Stones. On Tuesday, he passed away in his sleep from natural causes. Even at 83, he was still into rocking, having played his last show this past Saturday. If you want to know more about this legendary guitarist, visit Here and read about his incredible life.
Lucas unpuckers his ass!
Reign sent this to me at work today. Looks like George Lucas decided he wanted to make some more money. The Star Wars: Episode I, double DVD rings in at $29.95. I bet it will still be the biggest all time seller when it is released. Get the full scoop here.
The Road to Ozzfest
So, anyone else going to Ozzfest? We got our tickets this week. Dallas, July 5th, Section 201, Row EEE, Seats 20 and 21. Look for the two shaved headed dudes with goatees. 🙂 I am working on recording our journey to the festival and our escapades once we get there. This could be interesting!

What Will YOU Kill This Summer?
So, DAWN was vaporware. What ever will we do with our roleplaying urges now???

Rage Against The Blackhole Sun!
It looks like it is official! Tom Morello and the rest of the boys (minus zach of course) from Rage Against the Machine will be joined by none other than Soundgardens ex-frontman, Chris Cornell. Everything I have read claims the new sound will be more rock and less rap/fusion/metal. Continue reading Rage Against The Blackhole Sun!
For Sale – Awesome Gaming Publisher, No Profit
In more news about my personal favorite game company, Interplay is up for sale. I did a little digging and it seems they lost $8.4 million last quarter. I dont know about you, but I would hate to loose Interplay. They have been my favorite publisher ever since the original Diablo days. (Back when they published Diablo, unlike today where EA publishes it.)

Expansion Expansion
It seems Interplay is listening to their customers. Heart of Winter, the Icewind Dale Expansion, is getting a free expansion of its own. This was the number one complaint about the addon for Icewind Dale. Many people felt it added great features to the original game, like the ability to remove the tool bars and higher screen resolution, but the game itself was too short. In todays gaming industry, it is nice to have a company that actually gives a shit.
Hmmmm…. Electronic Arts, are you listening?!?!?
