On the Last Day part with vocalist, search for replacement

In a recent blog, Victory Records band On the Last Day have announced they will be continuing on without singer Geoff Walker. Additionally, the band is currently auditioning potential replacements:

On The Last Day Fans,

We regret to inform you that singer Geoff Walker will no longer be a part of On The Last Day. For a while now, the band (Aaron, Drew, Frank, and Justin) has been trying to grow in a direction that Geoff’s presence would not allow. We feel that this course of action is ultimately the best for On The Last Day to continue its natural progression. We wish Geoff the best of luck with his future endeavors — wherever they may lead.

Make no mistake, On The Last Day will not stop here. Aaron, Drew, Frank, and Justin will continue On The Last Day without Geoff and begin searching for a new vocalist immediately. We currently have new material in the works and hope to debut it as soon as possible.

If you would like to audition, please contact us at: [email protected]

The band’s label debut, Meaning In The Static, was released last year.

Madball reveal artwork for, discuss new album

Madball Madball has revealed the artwork for Infiltrate The System, the follow-up to Legacy.

Freddy Cricien had this to say regarding the new album:

The album will lyrically keep some of the hardcore standards while branching out from any of their previous work. We are hoping to branch out conceptually with ‘Infiltrate’. We do have a few songs written about themes that are familiar to our fans, such as life on the streets, but we also have some songs that delve more into social commentary. By no means are we a political band now, we’re still giving you first hand accounts of our life but there is other topics we want to talk about such as self-empowerment which everyone can relate to. Kids from the hardcore scene are infiltrating the system everyday and making changes to old ways of thinking, we have fans whom grew up with our band and are in all walks of life including CEOs of companies, politicians, teachers and more.

The album is expected to be released this fall.

Set it Straight (2004-2007)

Set It Straight Redding, CA positive hardcore act Set It Straight has announced that the rumors regarding a break-up are accurate, as the band’s vocalist has decided to pursue schooling and a career in education. Harry (vocals) had this to say:

I plan on being a teacher and obviously with that comes some schooling. I am at a point in my life where I would’nt be able to concentrate on both at the same time, school and band that is. Set it Straight has been priority one since its birth and to ask the other band members to put this band on a “back burner” would, for me, be disrespectful and wrong. I know there was small talk about possibly pushing foward with a new singer but if i’m not mistaken that idea has been discarded. To elaborate a small bit I also think that if I didnt go to school and begin what is very important to me I would be, in turn going against the very idea I sing about in our songs about finding self-happiness and making personal life changing decisions for yourself. This band has been my life for the past three and a half years and it has been some of the best times of my life, but I’ll spare you the words you have heard from every other band that has broken up.

The band last released Live Your Heart and Never Follow in 2006.
