Bob Mould to release DVD in October

Bob Mould, known best for his work in Hüsker Dü and Sugar, will be releasing a DVD this coming October. Due for release on October 7th, Circle of Friends documents the last show of the 2005 tour in support of Mould’s most recent solo album, Body Of Song. The performance, set at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, features a backing band consisting of Jason Narducy on bass, Richard Morel on keyboards and Brendan Canty (of Fugazi fame) on Drums. The set includes tracks from his Hüsker Dü days, as well as tracks from Sugar.

Mould is planning a January date for the release of his next effort.

The Lucky Stiffs part ways with Pirates Press, shooting new video

San Francisco’s Lucky Stiffs have said goodbye to Pirates Press records. The band is working on the followup to Gold in Peace, Iron in War, which was released on the label earlier this year.

The band’s also working on a video for the song “Letter” which will include fan-submitted material of deceased loved ones. For more info, check out their MySpace page.

The Failures Union, Mischief Brew, The Scissors

The Failures Union have posted two new songs from their upcoming album, Sinker. They’ll also be playing a rare show in Buffalo, NY on Saturday June 30th. For more details and to hear the songs, check out their MySpace page.

Filthadelphia’s Michief Brew are in need of a drummer. They’ve got a whole list of requirements and more information at their Webpage.

Bouncing Betty records have signed Chicago’s the Scissors. The band recently appeared on the Pop-Punk’s Not Dead compilation. BB records will be reissuing their recent LP VIVA, recorded with Matt Allison at Atlas Studios, as well as their unreleased debut Tijeras. Expect a new EP soon.

Consider The Meek planning 2008 release, split with No Use and Strung Out

Kev Lee of Consider the Meek has laid out some teasers for upcoming releases in a recent MySpace blog post. In it he titles the band’s next full length Above The System and estimates a 2008 release. He also lets loose news of a 3-way split between the Meek and veteran Fat-rockers No Use For A Name and Strung Out. No firm details for either release are available however.

The band will be playing as support for Marky Ramone on his September 14th visit to Taipei.

Revelation updates: Sinking Ships, End of a Year, Living Hell

Revelation Records has some goings-on as of late.

Sinking Ships has completed and titled their upcoming 7″, Ten., which will be released later this year and follow up on 2006’s Disconnecting. The band will head out on a summer tour with Have Heart and Soul Control next month.

End of a Year, who recently returned from a European tour, are in the initial writing stages for their next full-length. The Albany, NY-based band, who released Sincerely last year, is tentatively planning a west coast trip for this coming autumn.

Recent signing Living Hell has officially entered the studio to record their label debut. The band will also be playing Ventura, CA’s Sound and Fury Fest in late July.
