Leatherface tribute to include Hot Water Music, the Sainte Catherines, Chuck Ragan, Tiltwheel, more

LeatherfaceSome details surrounding the forthcoming tribute album for highly-influential UK post-hardcore group Leatherface have begun to surface. Although specific tracks have yet to be revealed, the contributing artists have been announced on a website created for the compilation. Among the impressive list of those involved are Chuck Ragan and his former endeavor Hot Water Music (a track from each), Radon, the Sainte Catherines, Tiltwheel, Monikers, the Dukes of Hillsborough and many more. Leatherface’s last full-length was 2004’s Dog Disco.

If you want to be the tribute album’s “friend”, head over to their MySpace page. The tribute is slated for a release later this year via Rubber Factory Records.

Social Distortion, Brand New, Supersuckers, Muse, P!ATD, Academy Is at Street Scene 2007

The lineup has been announced for the 2007 edition of Street Scene. The Killers, Muse and Panic! At the Disco will headline the event which will take place September 22nd and 23rd t the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego..

Other acts confirmed to appear at the event include Arctic Monkeys, Social Distortion, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Ozomatli, Fair To Midland, Air, Gym Class Heroes, Slightly Stoopid, Mute Math, Spoon, G. Love and Special Sauce, Elvis Perkins, Paolo Nutini, Augustana, Too Short, Editors, Brand New, the Supersuckers, Infected Mushroom, the Academy Is… and VNV Nation.

Two-day passes go on sale June 23 for $120, while VIP packages start at $300. Prices and on-sale dates for single-day tickets have not been announced.

Eternal Hope Records launches G&B Music imprint

G&B Music, a new subsidiary label of Eternal Hope Records, recently launched a MySpace page for label and artist information. The imprint’s first release will come from NJ’s Earth Stood Still, with their upcoming album Conveyance, due out early August.

The Banner announces new album, touring plans

Misfits-inspired hardcore act The Banner has relaunched its official website and along with it, unveiled plans for their next new full length. Frailty. The band released their previous record, Each Breath Haunted, in 2005, and since then, had split up and reformed.

Prior to the record’s release and recording this fall, the band will be touring and will kick off their tour on June 20th, 2007.
