The (International) Noise Conspiracy wrap up recording, announce European dates

Umea, Sweden’s (International) Noise Conspiracy have posted another update on their plans for the coming summer. The band recently wrapped up work on the next full length with famed producer Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Slayer, Rage Against The Machine).

We finished recording the new album some weeks back, and now were eagerly awaiting results from the mixing sessions. The songs feel inspiring and fun, and we’ve already tried some of them out live.

In other news Dennis is on tour right now with the Lost Patrol Band, and Inge is on tour with Knugen Faller.

The band released Armed Love in 2005. The album, also produced by Rubin, had a troubled release in North America as it remained shelved for months due to a distribution-related issues at their US label American Recordings.

Propagandhi aims for Spring 2008 for upcoming album

Propagandhi has said a little more about their upcoming album. A new interview has the band indicating that they are hoping for a Spring 2008 release:

We’re hoping for next Spring, so it’ll be a little faster than before. We’re gonna get home and start working on it.

I’ve got four tunes going, and Beav’s got some. Chris has six or seven more. We haven’t crossed each other’s songs too much. I’ve practiced mine with Jord and Beav separately. There still aren’t any lyrics. I’ve got some ideas, but nothings on there yet. I’ve heard pieces of Chris’. We’re just getting them together a little bit with one person and then adding all together.

If the new record does surface in 2008, it’ll make a relatively quick turnaround for the band. Potemkin City Limits, Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes and Less Talk, More Rock each were separated by at least four years.

Methadones adds fifth member, still one short of a full Bad Religion

Looks like The Methadones will be supporting their upcoming new full length as a five piece. The band is gearing up for the release of This Won’t Hurt” which is due out July 10, 2007. Their label explained:

“Funny side note, at the recent Methadones show in Chicago, the band was spontaneously joined onstage by their old pal Ben from Battalion of Saints. The band loved the lineup so much that they are permanently going to become a five-piece, enabling vocalist Dan to stalk the stage with just the microphone. Wanna know my theory? I think Dan just wanted to free up his beer-drinkin’ hand.”

The new record is the follow-up to 21st Century Power Pop Riot which was released in 2006

Green Day corrects Linda Perry rumours

In a fairly quick turnaround, Green Day‘s management has reportedly denied Courtney Love’s statement that the band was recording with Non Blond, Linda Perry. The band is apparently sticking with producer Rob Cavallo who has been with the band through their major label career.

After the massive commercial and critical success of American Idiot, anticipation for the band’s next record is high. The band has not even confirmed whether it’ll be another rock opera, however.

I propose that we start a rumour that the album will include nothing but covers of Elizabethan-era lute music. But no one would do that.
