Tours: Punk’s Not Dead (Screenings)

The documentary Punk’s Not Dead has announced a series of screenings throughout the United States.

As previously reported, the documentary focuses on the past 30 years in punk rock, with the social impact it has shown on everything from the orginal counter-culture, through its marketable image of today. The cast consists of a wide variety of bands, labels and personalities; providing both interviews and performances. Current stars like Green Day, Good Charlotte and Sum 41; punk staples such as Bad Religion, Pennywise, Rancid and the Casualties; and pioneers like the Ramones, Minor Threat and the Dead Kennedys are just some of groups featured in the presentation.

Tours: The Format / The Honorary Title / Limbeck / Steel Train

The Format has announced a series of tour dates kicking off next week. The band will be supporting their Elektra debut, Interventions & Lullabies, on the tour which will also feature labelmates The Honorary Title, Limbeck, Steel Train and Ollie Jason.

The Honorary Title will be touring in support of their upcoming major label debut. The record is titled Scream and Light Up the Sky and is due out August 28, 2007.

Whoops, haven’t done this in a while.

You’ll also notice the reviews update is about 14 hours “late.” Well, we never said anything about it being posted at midnight — just on Tuesdays and Fridays. We like to lull you into a false sense of security and then BAM!, suddenly you’re lost, confused, and in desperate need of your blankie.

Actually, I came back home at 2 in the morning from raging hard at Have Heart, Sinking Ships and Soul Control in Brooklyn and was not planning on anything else but inhaling leftover penne á la fettucini and hitting the hay.

Tours: Strung Out / Evergreen Terrace / I Am Ghost

Strung Out has announced dates for the second leg of their North American tour supporting Blackhawks Over Los Angeles. The band will hit the road with Evergreen Terrace and I Am Ghost playing a number of dates in the US and Canada,

The band is currently in Europe and will kick off their North American dates on August 3rd in California.

Cloak/Dagger’s “We Are” streaming

Jade Tree Records is streaming the upcoming Cloak/Dagger full-length debut We Are. You can check it out now. The record will be released on September 11, 2007 and follows up the band’s previous digital EP Piñata Breaks, Demo Takes. Reflections Records will release the record in Europe in late August as well.

Chunksaah announces Low Budgets (ex-Dead Milkmen) album, release shows with Souls, Ratchets

Chunksaah has announced some details and posted some new material from The Low Budgets. The record is titled Leave Us A Loan and is due out August 21, 2007. (artwork)

The band features Joe Jack Talcum of The Dead Milkmen and will be celebrating the release with some record release shows alongside friends in the Bouncing Souls and the Ratchets. A new track from the album can be found on the player on Chunksaah‘s newly relaunched website.
