For the final installment of the video journal of our three week cross-country excursion with The Gaslight Anthem, we bring you footage from some good friends we met up with in their hometown of Denver, CO; Signal To Noise. Nolan, Tristan, James and Andrew joined us for a couple of weeks of great shows throughout the Pacific Northwest, down through California, and across the Southwest in support of their recent LP Kodiak. The song featured in this clip, “Radiation”, comes from that album and was filmed in Portland, OR.

G7 troubadour Greg MacPherson is on the road now touring eastern Canada with Halifax based Horses. MacPherson is singing the praises of his tour mates, calling them “one of Nova Scotia’s finest rock bands.” He commented:

We’re all from the same city on Cape Breton Island and we aim to set the record straight on there being more than all that celtic garbage coming out of the east Maritimes. Horses will serve as my backing band, and we’ve been practicing new songs in my brother’s dingy basement every day for a week now with excellent results.

Dashboard Confessional to return to acoustic with “The Shade of Poison Trees”, posts new track

Dashboard Confessional Dashboard Confessional‘s Chris Carrabba, will be returning to an acoustic format with his next album. The record is titled The Shade of Poison Trees and is due out October 02, 2007. Recorded over 10 days in Florida with renowned producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park), the record promises a return to the format of the fan favorites, The Swiss Army Romance [re-issue] and The Places You’ve Come To Fear The Most.

The new song, “Thick as Thieves” is now available via his MySpace.

The Casting Out (ex-Boy Sets Fire) debut more new music

The Casting Out, which includes Nathan Gray and Josh Latshaw of Boy Sets Fire, have posted three new songs. The band is described as “nothing like Boy Sets Fire” and drawing it’s influences from Built to Spill, REM, Elvis Costello, Jawbreaker, XTC and the Weakerthans.

Bedouin Soundclash: “Street Gospels”

Bedouin SoundclashThe upcoming third full length from Toronto roots reggae three piece Bedouin Soundclash has been a long time coming. 2004’s Sounding A Mosaic was already long in the tooth when it suddenly broke in Canada, and the unexpected attention forced the band to put the in-production Street Gospels on the shelf for some time. This year will finally see the record, produced by Darryl Jenifer if the legendary Bad Brains, hit stores on August 21, 2007.

Revelation to publish Anti-Matter collection with Snapcase, Rancid, Elliott Smith, SDRE

Revelation has announced plans to publish a new book compiling material from the Anti-Matter ‘zine. The magazine was formed in the 90s by Norman Brannon (aka Norman Arenas) who went on to form post-hardcore favorites Texas Is The Reason.

The book is titled The Anti-Matter Anthology: A 1990s Post-Punk & Hardcore Reader and features in-depth conversations with artists like Sick Of It All, Snapcase, Quicksand, Rage Against The Machine, Elliott Smith, Ressurection, Mouthpiece, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox, Shelter, Rancid, Ian MacKaye, Elliott Smith, Farside, and more.

The book will be 256 pages and is expected November 6 of this year. You can check out a myspace page for the book which features music from some of the profiled artists right here.
