Fake Problems talk new tours, new members, new releases

Fake Problems has posted an update on their plans for the coming year.

Starting things off, we’re going to start touring North America on September 20th; Everywhere! Across the south, West Coast, Midwest, a spot at CMJ, and the occasional Canadian show. Joining us on this epic trek will be Nothington

Joining the group will be the talented and beautiful multi-instrumentalist Katie Crutchfield. She is also known by playing front-woman of Birmingham, AL’s The Ackleys and King Everything.

We’re going to be delivering two seven inches this fall. It’s still way to early to detail them, but we can say this: One will be gold and one will be silver.

The band will also be appearing at The Fest in Gainesville. They released How Far Our Bodies Go in April.

Planes Mistaken For Stars talks about break-up, touring information

Having officially split up in early July, the members of Planes Mistaken For Stars have posted an official explanation:

There are many reasons why we’ve decided to move on. Financial strain, family obligations, etc. But truly, we just felt it was time. Our love for each other and our music has not diminished. It will always be there. I have no doubt that we could continue to write balls to the wall music. Maybe someday, but for now, it’s just time for change.

It’s been one hell of a ride! The past 10 years have flown by and we’ve had experiences we could never have dreamed of. Thank you all for being a part of it. And so, Farewell!! We’ll see you all soon in a city near you!!

The band has announced some farewell shows.

Killing the Dream explain delay in new release

Killing the Dream has posted information regarding a new album. The band recorded music for the new release, Fractures, in May, and completed 12 songs. Eli (vocals) had this to say regarding the delay since then:

Between going to europe for three weeks, doing nine shows on the west coast, and random local shows in between, my throat was not in the greatest shape. It was good enough to where I could get through shows (haha well, depending on who you talk to I’m sure), but definitely not good enough to do a record we would be happy with.

Basically, I decided to take some time off and try to let my throat heal to where I could finish the record. This is not a big deal, there’s no medical problems or anything, I just felt like I should take a break in order to avoid possible problems that may have come if I kept pushing it.

The band hope to have the record done within the next month for a late 2007/ early 2008 release.

Fractures will be the follow-up to their 2005 effort In Place, Apart.
