Rise Against’s Joe Principe talks about next album

In a recent interview, Rise Against‘s Joe Principe revealed some information about the band’s next full length and follow up to The Sufferer & the Witness.

We are going to do a new record in 2008 and tour in the fall, and when we go out we are really going to explore every avenue of every aspect of our show and see what we can do to cut back and save energy. Those lights definitely use a ton of energy.

We would like to have a new record out next summer. Everything could change, but that’s the plan right now. Tim and I write individually while on tour and we will eventually show each other our ideas during soundcheck. All we need is a good two months to work out all the kinks, but we are always writing.

The band is currently driving across America touring with Silverstein, Comeback Kid, Smoke or Fire.

Jimmy Eat World promises both “angular, razor-sharp” and “dreamy” new album

Jimmy Eat World recently discussed their upcoming new album with Billboard. The record is titled Chase This Light and is due out October 16, 2007. It is the follow-up to Stay on My Side Tonight which was released in 2005.

According to produce Butch Vig (Against Me!, Nirvana):

The record is quite eclectic, There are three or four songs that sound like classic Jimmy Eat World, with angular, razor-sharp guitars. There are a couple that are a lot more dreamy, and some that are very groove-acious. Anybody who is fan will like this record.

Besides those details, a track listing for the record is available.

Plus 44 talks tour cancellation, next album

Plus 44 Plus 44 has released an explanation for the cancellation of their European tour

Canceling the tour was not an easy decision, not something we wanted to do, and not something that we take lightly. We didn’t cancel our first european tour last winter even when travis was playing every single show with a broken arm, and we didn’t cancel the next european tour after travis was ordered home by his doctors. Touring and playing shows is the foundation of +44. Sorry to anyone who had tickets to the shows this month. We were absolutely stoked to be headed over for a third tour, but this time it just wasn’t possible.

The band also noted that they’re beginning to write the follow-up to last year’s When Your Heart Stops Beating: “We’ve got a bunch of ideas; a studio full of instruments, microphones, and effects; and a soundboard from the 1970’s. We’re excited to start putting together a new album.
