Saviours sign to Kemado Records; prepare to record new album

Oakland, CA group Saviours has inked a deal with NYC label Kemado Records. The self-described “piss-angry metal band” will enter Los Angeles’ A&M/Henson Studios in late August with producer Joe Barresi (Melvins, Kyuss, Tool) to record their sophomore album, due in early 2008.

On the topic of the forthcoming album and the band’s new label home, Saviours’ drummer Scott Batiste commented “We signed to Kemado because they understand what we’re trying to do more than any other label. We each share a vision of how a Saviours record should be released. And it helps that Keith and company know how to party.”

You can find music and more information at the band’s MySpace page.

Cancer Bats: “Pneumonia Hawk”

Toronto’s Cancer Bats have posted the video for the song “Pneumonia Hawk” online via Much Music. The track comes from 2006’s Distort / Abacus released Birthing the Giant. The lumberjack themed clip features a guest appearance by Alexisonfire‘s George Pettit (and another tribute of sorts to Dallas Green, much like their previous “French Immersion”).

Your humble editor would also like to point out that he has the exact same maple syrup jar in his fridge at home. No word of a lie.
