Operation Ivy’s “Energy” due in November

Operation Ivy After multiple push backs, the re-release for Energy has been given a new date. It will be released November 6, 2007 via Rancid/Hellcat Records.

As with the original Lookout! release, the disc compiles the original Energy album, the Hectic EP and the Turn It Around songs. No word on any bonus material has been released. However, the disc is expected to be remastered and repackaged in a digipak.

The album was last released via Lookout! Records, but pulled from the label after a series of financial problems. It is widely considered one of the most significant and influential ska/punk albums of all time.

Tours: The Briefs (Europe with the Misfits) / DVD details

The BriefsThe Briefs have announced European tour dates for the fall. The band will play a UK leg of the tour with the Misfits follows by shows with bands like the Hatepinks, the HollowPoints, Texas Terry Bomb and others.

BYO Records have set an October 23rd release date for the band’s still untitled new DVD. The film will include a feature length documentary chronicling the band’s history from their formation through the present. It will include interviews, live footage and other behind the scenes material. The DVD will include a second disc of live tracks recorded during a radio station on-air session.

The Briefs last released Steal Yer Heart in 2005. Members Steve E. Nix and Steve Kicks have been recording and performing with Steve E. Nix and the Cute Lepers, who recently released their Terminal Boredom 7 inch. The band will hit the studio soon to record a new song for BYO’s 25th anniversary box set.

Avenged Sevenfold: New album release date announced

Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold has set a release date for their upcoming album and follow up to 2005’s City Of Evil. The band recorded the new disk in a Burbank studio. City of Evil has sold 800,000 copies in the United States. (That’s probably way more than your favorite band sold, unless your favorite band is Maroon 5 in which case it’s way less. )

The new record is titled Avenged Sevenfold and is due out October 16, 2007.
